Trash on our roads doesn’t always stay on our roads. When rain falls, litter can be washed into storm drains, creeks, rivers, and lakes — impacting the watersheds we all depend on. 💧

LCWSC applauds and supports this initiative of Keep Laurens County Beautiful to cover and secure your load because keeping trash off the streets also helps protect our water resources.

A few extra minutes can make a big difference for safer roads, cleaner communities, and healthier waterways.

Workforce Wednesday 💧

LCWSC is proud to welcome David Willis to our team as a Water Treatment Operator at the Lake Greenwood Water Treatment Facility.

David joins an experienced group of operators dedicated to providing safe, reliable drinking water to Laurens County every day.

The Lake Greenwood Water Treatment Facility is a major investment in LCWSC’s future, built around a strong long-term water source with the reliable supply and safe yield needed to help serve our community for years to come.

Tapped In Tuesday 💧

This week, we’re “tapped into” our friends at the Laurens County Conservation District and we’re watching for photos that showcase the natural resources of Laurens County!

LCWSC is honored to partner with and support the Conservation District’s work to protect and promote our natural resources, especially the water resources we all depend on.

The Annual Earth & Sky Photo Contest is now open for entries for the 2026-2027 calendar, and we can’t wait to see the beautiful, creative, and watchful moments captured right here in Laurens County. From wildlife and waterways to landscapes and skies, this is a great opportunity to celebrate the natural beauty around us.

Workforce Wednesday: Exciting News

Today we are bragging on our newest team member, Ayden Rudder, Water Treatment Trainee for passing his Water Treatment Class E Examination less than two weeks after being hired and less than a month after graduating from Presbyterian College.

This is a strong accomplishment and an important first step in Ayden’s career in the water industry. It also reflects LCWSC’s commitment to workforce development — helping team members gain the knowledge, certifications, and experience needed to grow in their roles and support reliable service for our community.

🌎💧 World Environment Day: Protecting Our Environment Starts Underground

LCWSC recently completed proactive maintenance at the Hwy. 385 rest area force main. Roper Brothers, Inc. installed a new valve so the line can be properly cleaned, with Campbell’s Septic assisting in removing material from the line.

This behind-the-scenes work helps prevent sewer overflows, protect local waterways and groundwater, and keep our wastewater system running safely and reliably.

Protecting the environment is part of what we do every day.
