💧 Behind the water we count on are people we can count on.

Today, as we recognize Imagine a Day Without Water, we’re proud to celebrate Justin Whelchel for passing his Water Distribution B exam! 👏

Thanks to folks like Justin and the rest of our LCWSC team, we’re fortunate to turn on the tap and have clean, reliable water. Their work helps keep a day without water something we only have to imagine.

Sadly, that’s not the reality for everyone. According to WHO and UNICEF, 2.1 billion people—about 26% of the world’s population—lack safely managed drinking water: water that is free from contamination, available at home, and there when needed.

It’s a reminder to appreciate both the water we depend on and the people who make that service possible. Justin’s commitment to learning and growing helps strengthen our team and the community we serve.

⛈️ Hey, storm preppers! Stocked up on milk and bread? Good, now let’s talk trash cans...

When strong winds and heavy rain roll through, everyday items left outside can quickly become storm debris, ending up in our streets, storm drains and waterways.

Be the calm before the storm! Take a few minutes to:

- Check your cans. Secure the lids and move bins to a sheltered spot so trash and recyclables don’t scatter.

- Secure loose items. Bring in or tie down patio furniture, decorations, and anything else that could blow away.

- Tidy up your yard. Pick up loose debris before the storm does it for you, and clear leaves and debris from gutters and storm drains so water can drain properly.

- Check on your neighbors and see if they need an extra hand to do the same.

After the storm, you may see more litter around than usual. Pickup schedules can shift while local crews put safety and recovery first, so please be patient with them. Once it’s safe, we can all pitch in to clean up.
