🕊️ IF YOU CUT COSTS ON ANYTHING, PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE CUTTING COSTS ON YOUR LOVED ONE’S FUNERAL PROGRAM. 🕊️
Let me say something that I believe needs to be said, and I say this with nothing but love, compassion, and respect for grieving families.
When we lose someone we love, we want to give them a beautiful homegoing celebration. We spend thousands of dollars on caskets, flowers, clothing, transportation, and other funeral arrangements. And while all of those things have their place, I want families to consider something.
The casket will be buried. The flowers will eventually die. The outfit will only be worn once. But a beautifully designed funeral program can remain in your family for GENERATIONS.
An obituary/funeral program is not just a piece of paper handed out at a funeral.
It is a personal biography.
It is a family photo album.
It is a historical document.
It is a celebration of someone’s journey on this earth.
It is one of the final tangible gifts we can give in honor of a life that meant so much.
Years from now, when grandchildren and great-grandchildren want to know who their ancestors were, what they looked like, what they accomplished, and how deeply they were loved, that funeral program may be one of the very things they reach for.
I have had people inquire about professionally designed obituaries only to tell me they plan to print them at home on regular copy paper.
Now, let me be VERY clear. If finances are tight and that is genuinely your only option, I understand completely. Grief is already difficult enough without the added burden of financial hardship. No family should ever feel ashamed for doing the best they can with what they have. God knows your heart, and love is NEVER measured by how much money you spend.
But if you have the financial means and you’re simply looking to save a few dollars on the one keepsake that your family will hold onto long after the service, I encourage you to reconsider where you place your priorities.
We sometimes spend the most money on things that will never be seen again while trying to spend the least on something that can be treasured for a lifetime.
A beautiful funeral program doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. But it should be created with love, care, dignity, and the understanding that it represents someone’s entire life.
Because when the music stops, the flowers are gone, the guests return home, and the final goodbyes have been spoken, the memories are what remain.
And sometimes, those memories are held together by a few beautifully printed pages.
You’re not just purchasing an obituary. You’re preserving a legacy.
Give their story the love and attention it deserves. 🕊️❤️
