Our first cabbage of the season is this 6+ lb giant! It would be even heavier if were a different variety. This variety doesn’t grow quite as tightly as some, but it is very hardy for our conditions here on the hill.

Part of this one is for dinner - Cabbage Roll Stir Fry. The rest was used for sauerkraut 😋

Garden update: The garden has been on the struggle bus all summer with the crazy weather patterns. There are still some things growing and when ready, we will have cabbage, cauliflower, noodle squash, and pumpkins.

Green beans are done. Not enough tomatoes to share this year. Broccoli is way behind, but may have time still to grow 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Squash borers have almost effectively destroyed our zucchini and summer squash vines.

Sorry for the bad news everyone. We tend the garden as best we can and never spray with pesticides or artificial chemicals for growth. Sometimes that results in low yields and a tough season, but we won’t do it any other way.
