Bigass news! Ikasu Brewing was named a finalist for the Live Pitch Slam, happening Dec 10–11 in Marina del Rey, one of the top national platforms for emerging beverage brands.

This year’s finalists include sake breweries, THC drinks, non-alc innovators, international lager brands, and us: a tiny Japanese-owned contract brewery brewing in DTLA with a whole lot of heart and s**t.

There is no public voting, but your support still moves the needle.

Ikasu ! Yes, the hypest spot in LA. This is **t ‘s hyper-local hangout, where he first started delivering kegs by bicycle on his way home lol. The place is chill during the day (Masa’s favorite time to visit) but gets packed at night.

Right now, Babysit Hazy Pale Ale is on tap. Masa paired it with the Tuna Tostada - totally covered in fresh tuna sashimi and full of flavor.

Besides his beer, his go-to here is their Michelada made with their own house-made michi mix, which he often grabs on the way home. Don’t miss this hot spot. Kanpai!

Ikasu !!
We’re located within one block, so **t walked over with a keg of Babysit Hazy Pale Ale!
Today he paired his beer with cornbread and Sunday collards, traditional Southern dishes he’d never tried before, and they were freaking good!!

Especially the Sunday collards - so full of umami, just like the Japanese comfort dishes Masa’s super familiar with. The beer had a perfect balance with the food: fruity, flavorful, but not aggressive.

Damn, you’ll probably find him hanging out here pretty often. Kanpai!

Ikasu !!
This is officially the first izakaya to serve our beers. We are so proud that this authentic place with 12 locations in Tokyo and only one here decided to put our W.C. S**t on tap.

**t paired it with Gindara Saikyoyaki, miso-marinated black cod. The simple flavor of the fish, combined with its oily richness and miso’s umami, plus sweet potato puree (WTF!) definitely made his day.

It’s definitely worth the drive to the coast.

Ikasu at !! Located right on busy Main St in Santa Monica’s Ocean Park, this spot has a true local vibe without the tourist chaos. They tapped Goma Me, our black sesame porter, and it is the perfect match for the cooler Santa Monica evenings, especially in September.

Today **t paired it with their fish and chips, which are super crunchy, juicy, and a massive portion. A historic combo with a touch of Japanese umami from the sesame that never fails.

Ikasu .la !! This spot is a true hidden gem in LA. **t randomly knocked on the door and immediately knew he was going to love this place. 100% vegan and seriously legit. Their hummus is absolutely phenomenal, and the pita is super mochi mochi!! It just happens to pair perfectly with our “New-Z” New Zealand Pilsner, now on tap!! Kanpai! (Our beer is 100% vegan btw)

Ikasu at .la !! As a 12-year Echo Park resident and lifelong Dodger fan, Masa **t couldn’t be happier to have his beer pouring here. Perfect before, during, after the game, and on non-game days too!

Let’s celebrate a Dodgers win with a pint of LArigato Japanese Rice Lager. Kanpai!!

!! Yes, this is such an iconic spot and absolutely the original French dip destination in the world! Masa **t a longtime Chinatown LA local and huge fan of their sandwiches, always dreamed of getting his beer on their tap list...and it’s finally happened!! Right now ‘Babysit’ Hazy Pale Ale (5.8%) is on tap, bursting with mango, lychee, coconut, and floral hops. It’s easy-drinking, super flavorful, and perfect even for babysitting, which inspired its name lol. Today, he paired it with his all-time favorite: the Lamb Dip with potato salad (as someone from Hokkaido, famous for lamb and potatoes) and of course the sandwich was ordered as ‘Wet’...and it was a total hit! The beer is characterful but not overpowering, perfectly complementing the rich flavors of the lamb dip. Swing by and try our beer anytime, especially before heading to a Dodgers game, instead of spending $20 on macro beers at the stadium! Kanpai!
