Hello Farm Friends, from Sarah & Kevin. Well, we started the clean up process at the farm today to get ready for the harvest season. We also have a wedding to attend near the farm this evening, so we cleaned up also.
Productive day in the Reedsburg workshop. Storage building, prepping pinecones for porch pots, and lots of bow making.... oh and a Packer win!
Porch Pot Customers... if you are doing Fall clean up, watch for your porch pot buckets so you can return them to us for your refill discount! They can be dropped off at the farm location or in Reedsburg. It helps if you add your name on a piece of painters tape to the handle. Send us a message if you have any questions!
Fall Sunday's.... watching the Packers and getting the workshop organized. It is beautiful out!

Hefty goal today... we really want to finish shearing, 11 rows to go π¬
We completed shearing Section 2 last night. Kevin was on first shift and I took the second shift and raced the sun setting. I did come across a paper wasp nest the size of a volleyball. Luckily I was able to escape being stung! We are hoping to complete Section 3 this week... then on to the fun prep work.
Live video coming soon of shearing!
Well we took a few day break from shearing with the extreme heat. Today Kevin, Abby, and I are at the farm mowing and shearing. It was a blessing to check the rain gauge and see 2.5 inches in it. Check out the visitors Abby spotted earlier at the farm.
And so it begins, the shearing season! We delayed the start by two weeks to allow the leads to firm up.
Raise your hand if you're enjoying this beautiful rain!! πββοΈπ²ππββοΈ
Christmas in July anyone!?!? We're delaying the start of shearing to allow our leads on the trees to firm up a bit. The weather sure has been crazy this year and is even messing with our typical shearing schedule. So... we're going to enjoy a little a Christmas in July this weekend camping! Got our tree picked out!
I just had to peek to check out the new prints... no buying yet though! Happy 1st of July!
Kicking it in high gear... hair cuts coming up, wreath prep work, maybe some mowing, and crafting!
Started watering last night after work. I covered a decent area for the water I brought. Well... not the same story tonight. Sprung a leak in my rain barrel that I was using to haul water.
Hope everyone enjoyed their Father's Day! I'm getting ready to start manually watering this week. We haven't done this at the farm in over 15 years. If you drive by beep and wave if you see me walking in the evenings.
So there really isn't alot of down time as a Christmas tree grower. I'm on a little camping trip with my daughter and her friend. So... bow making for me! Only 5 months till crazy time!
2023 spraying is DONE!!
Well we were hoping to wrap up the spraying tonight, but the sunset won. 11 rows to go, so we're hoping to wrap up tomorrow after work. Please let some nice rains come this weekend π
These sunsets don't get old... a night shift of spraying allows us to enjoy the sunset. We sure could use some rain!
A little farm shopping this memorial day weekend. Found some buckets for our amazing porch pots!
Night two of my least favorite chore at the farm... spraying for w**d control. Think happy thoughts and maybe a little music will help.
So my kids make fun of me because I talk to the trees. We'll I am at the farm for another round of mowing. I just love how they remind me of humans and how each person is different and develops differently. The trees are currently in a variety of stages of new growth. Some are shy and haven't popped out yet, while others are having the time of their life and the new growth is shooting out like crazy. Enjoy some of the scenery I am seeing while mowing this afternoon!
Happy Mother's Day!
What a day! We planted 1,330 trees in just under 7 hours. We were able to find homes for the other 270 trees. Shout out and a big Thank You to Kevin, Randy, Tom, Nancy, Angie, Rita, Katelyn, Lila, Abby, Jenna and Andrew for helping plant today!!!!
