The door opens, and the first thing you notice isn't the case.

It's the rosemary scent.

Then the rest arrives.
Amber light on barrel wood.
A sound of another era drifting in the air.

Guests have told us, again and again, that they remember the scent of this room long after they've gone home. So we gave it a name.

The ribs came off the smoker this afternoon. Warm them through, set out our coleslaw or pasta salad alongside, and supper is on the table in under fifteen minutes.

No one at your table needs to know how little effort was involved. This publication will not tell them.

In Mapleton, theres a place one block off the interstate. A place many call a hidden secret. The bratwurst case is full, handmade, sold by the pound.

There are more flavors than this reel had room for. Pete maintains a ranking. Henrietta maintains that his ranking is wrong.

The only way to settle it is to take two home and decide for yourself.

One block off I-94. The case is open until close.
