Got a small swarm today! My Dad, Chuck Crowell, constructed a catcher from a 5 gallon bucket that can be attached to the end of a pole. He was simply a genius! We were able to use it to grab this swarm that was at least 15 ft from the ground - if not 20 ft! We'll see how they do! Thanks to Linda and Kenny Penn for reaching out to us!

Canola fields are so pretty! This is the first year that any has been planted within a few miles of our bees and they sure loved it! Because of the canola, we got our supers on early. Today, we extracted about 50 # of honey from 3 hives. If you have bees near canola, check them often and get the honey extracted as soon as possible - it'll crystallize in the frame.
