Did you know Marion County's beloved Lawrence Orchards has been creating family traditions for more than a century?
The first apple trees were planted by Dale Lawrence in 1923, beginning a family legacy that has flourished through four generations. Along the way, the orchard has continually evolved—from expanding fruit production and opening a farm market to adding award-winning c***r, pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, and seasonal attractions.
In 1985, George and Vickie Lawrence launched Applefest as a simple thank-you gathering for family and friends. Nearly 300 people attended that first celebration. Today, thousands visit each fall to enjoy wagon rides, bluegrass music, farm animals, corn mazes, and the timeless tradition of making memories at the orchard.
For more than 100 years, Lawrence Orchards has shown that the sweetest harvest isn't just apples—it's the generations of families who return year after year to celebrate the season together.
