Two updates if you're considering sharing a quarter, half or whole cow with family or friends. First, we've added pick-up dates at the orchard between Christmas and New Year's Day. Second, as we have these in stock, we are offering to do the hard work of fairly dividing your order for you. Just tell us how many ways and your special requests, and we'll have it ready for you.
Thanks to our amazing customers we raised over $1,000 to go toward the purchase of winter coats for the children in Warren County. 175 new coats - that is amazing! THANK YOU!
Don’t forget that we are still accepting donations to provide beef for the Fauquier Food Bank. Go to our website and click on “order beef.” Happy holidays!
It's #GivingTuesday! Click on the link to find out how to join us in addressing food insecurity during this holiday season. Use the Quantity option to donate any level from $1 to $500 worth of beef to the Fauquier Community Food Bank (A donation in someone's honor would make a perfect Christmas gift!). We donated one of the first four cows we had USDA processed to this local charity in August 2020. Through subsequent donations, we have given almost 500 pounds of beef to the hungry. Now, through this option, we can work together to do more!

Our apple season is beginning to wind down. We will be open this Wednesday though Sunday (Oct. 13-17) from 9-5 each day. We have limited amounts of Yorks and Granny Smith on the trees for picking. We also have pre-picked Nittany, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Rome, and Stayman. In addition we are now offering ground apples for 75 cents/lb or $50 for a truck load. Ground apples are great for cooking, making cider, making applesauce, slicing up and freezing, deer, etc.
This weekend (Oct. 16-17), the bakery will be offering the following items only: apple pies (regular top and crumb top), pie slices, apple cakes, white bread, and apple raisin bread while supplies last. The snack shack will be open for lunch both days and the following vendors will be here: Whistle Pop Kettle Corn, caramel apples, Cobbler Mountain Cider, Chateau O'Brien, and C&C Ice Cream (on Sunday only).
There is lots of product left in the store - stock up on your apple butter! These make great hostess and holiday gifts! We will be selling beef through the 17th as well. Stay tuned for more beef information - we will be offering the purchase of beef bundles with pick up at the orchard on specific days leading up to the holidays!
If you have not made it out for apple picking yet, this is the perfect weekend for it! The forecast has some clouds and a little bit of rain, but don’t let that stop you - we are open rain or shine! And we are open Saturday, Sunday, AND Monday for this holiday weekend (bakery, Snack Shack and vendors will be operating all 3 days as well). Please note that we will be closed on Tuesday, October 12.
Speaking of rain…you may notice that there are some black spots on our fruit. This is from the copious amounts of rain we have had in the past few weeks. The spots are merely cosmetic and should wash off. They do not pe*****te the skin or impact the taste or usefulness of the fruit in any way.
Just a heads up that the bakery will be offering donuts and turnovers on Saturday only while supplies last. There will be no apple sticks. All other items will be available all three days - apple cake, pies, pie slices, white bread, and apple raisin bread.
We expect to be busy this weekend and are looking at October 16 & 17 as our final weekend for the year. We hope to start ground apples next week and will update the website after this weekend with pricing.
We suffered a total loss last year and thanks to the generosity and support of so many of our customers and friends were able to make a comeback this year. Because we know how important help is for getting back on your feet, we are dedicated to giving back and joined an effort to purchase coats, hats, and gloves for homeless children in Warren County. When you visit us for apple picking, consider donating your change! Your donation will help over 200 children stay warm this winter!
