😎 Sundays Set! 😎

🔵 12 poles - all trot.

🧐 So here in AUS there are some dressage tests that require this line be ridden. I find a lot of riders find this line really hard - so why not make it harder and add poles to it?! 🤣🤣

No… but seriously the poles cause the rider to hold the line, turn off their outside aids and maintain quality of pace/rhythm!

🔹 Goal :
👉 Make dressage test component easier
👉 Train better use of outside aids
👉 Train rhythm and quality of pace through square turns!

😎 Saturdays Serpentine 😎

🔵 17 Poles - set the three fans up on the quarter line or the centreline. Set your canter poles at a distance between 3 and 7 strides.

🔹 Goal :
👉 Improve suppleness
👉 Improve mobility
👉 Train ability to adjust
👉 Train use of rider’s eyes and feel

A great exercise!

😼 Friday Funday! 😼

🔵 20 Poles!! Bounce canter poles on the long sides and trot poles on the short sides.

🔹 Goal :
👉 Train transitions
👉 Train straightness
👉 Train rhythm
👉 Train balance
👉 Train use of aids and feel

🧐 This one is easy lines but VERY taxing on the horse physically so monitor how they cope.

🔹 If you get chip strides your horse is drifting. Are they drifting from a weakness or because you are unbalanced? Be thinking riders… figure out what causes the drift!

🔹 Train even reps both reins
🔹 Escalate intensity by raising poles or making canter poles into jumps.

🚨 LNJ RANCH ARENA UPDATE! 🚨

🎉 THE GOOD NEWS! 🎉

Our Covered Arena is getting some much-needed TLC! 🚜🐴

We are currently working on improving the arena footing, including removing rocks and creating a safer, more consistent riding surface for our horses and riders! Safety is always our top priority, and these improvements will be well worth the temporary inconvenience!

😬 THE BAD NEWS…

While this work is underway, the Covered Arena is temporarily OUT OF SERVICE!

This means lessons will be limited to our Outdoor Arena and Hunt Field until the improvements are completed.

🌦️ WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR LESSONS?

We will be keeping a VERY close eye on Mother Nature! 👀☔

If rain, flooding, or unsafe footing conditions force us to cancel lessons, DON’T WORRY! Your lesson tokens will be credited or extended so you won’t lose them due to weather-related cancellations!

We know scheduling around Oklahoma weather can be an adventure, but these improvements are an important investment in the safety of our horses, riders, and the quality of our training facility.

Arwen is doing so well with Josie after so much time off! 🥰. It’s wonderful to raise young horses with such great minds! Arwen is only a 3 y/o and has been put on the back burner due to our hectic schedule… but Josie decided it was time for her to go back to work and she picked right up where she left off! It was even her first time in an English saddle!

Today’s highlight: Arwen got to go out today after a stall rest break for her allergic reaction to goodness only knows what... probably the fact that I said I was going to ride her. Vegas was super happy to have her bestie back with her, but let it slip that she was, in fact, not lame anymore.... she probably never really was and was only faking it because she prefers pampering, massages, and snacks to actual work.
