Passed down through four generations, we're staying true to our beekeeping heritage while producing only raw and unfiltered honey and honey products. We are a fourth generation of beekeepers who have been producing honey in Indiana for 115 years. We are currently managing 600-700 hundred hives throughout the state to pollinate apples, melons, cucumbers, and pumpkins. We keep our honey as pure and

natural as possible; therefore, our honey is never flash heated or pressure filtered. Even though honey is our main product, we also produce beeswax, bee pollen, and propolis. We also use the hive products to make candles, honey soap, beeswax moisturizing cream, beeswax lip balm, honey teriyaki marinade, honey mustard, and honey barbecue sauce, honey caramel corn, honey teriyaki beef jerky and many other delicious honey snacks. We also have over 30 varieties of flavored honey stix. Call ahead and schedule a tour through our honey house or visit a live hive with a beekeeper.

Our seasonal tours of the apiary here at Hunter's Honey Farm in Martinsville, Indiana offer our customers a close-up look at how beehives function. Besides the traditional wooden Langstroth hive boxes we've used for generations, we're now featuring two additional types of hives on our tours: a Langstroth hive with a styrofoam exterior, and another type known as a long hive.

The advantage of using the styrofoam hive is that it allows excellent control of the climate inside the hive both winter and summer. Many beekeepers enjoy using the long hive because it combines standard Langstroth hive frames at a waist-high working area.

Our bees are very busy this time of year gathering pollen and nectar and building brood. It's a great time to schedule a tour of our farm! Check out the possibilities at https://huntershoneyfarm.com/tour/.
