Yuba River Ranch We are a family owned and operated business focused on producing exceptional fullblood and purebred black Wagyu cattle and commercial F1 crosses.

Yuba River Ranch’s Wagyu influenced beef features a buttery texture, complex flavors, subtle sweetness and a lingering finish not found at local grocery stores or even local butcher shops. Our beef is born and raised right here in the Sacramento Valley and is completely traceable from birth to harvest. Ronda has worked very hard to marry two very significant players in the beef industry. She has crossed full blood Wagyu bulls renowned for their intense marbling and high percentage of oleaginous, inter-muscular unsaturated fat with well-bred certified Angus mother cows. The result is a product unmatched in the beef market. Along with the careful selection and breeding of our animals, we pride ourselves on our beef being 100% natural. We never feed antibiotics or hormones. Our beef is also dry aged no less than 21 days for improved flavor and texture.

This will be fun!

Backstory –
I went to one of our leases where there were two Angus cows that don’t have calves. We’ve had a dead calf two weeks earlier, but didn’t know which cow it belonged to. We decided to wait and see which one calved. That would mean the other one was the one that had lost her calf. I showed up at the lease yesterday and there’s a brand new calf wandering around sneaking milk from any cow that would stand still long enough. Yay! My last cow has calved. I went and found number 84. Nope…not hers. I went and found number 89…waitaminit…not hers either!

I palpated both. 89 was empty. She’s the one that lost her calf. 84 still has one cooking in there.

Who does this little bu**er belong to?!?

Was it a twin that I missed?

DNA it is!! Stay tuned!

We had such a great time visiting with Cody Stark from Good Day Sacramento yesterday. He came and visited the ranch and the store then we headed off to Council Oak Steaks & Seafood at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino so Chef Jerrett could work his magic with a Yuba River Ranch New York strip.
