With heavy hearts, we will be closing Jonny Boy Cookies.
They say all the important things happen in the dash, and a lot has happened in ours.
When I started baking cookies for doctors' offices in 2013, Hannah and I scraped together everything we had, borrowed money from family, and stepped into a wild ride. Starting a business was never part of the plan, but once we did, we never imagined it would one day come to an end.
Over the years, we experienced incredible highs and difficult lows. We faced challenges, setbacks, and uncertainty, but none of it ever deterred us. We always believed we could push through one more obstacle, solve one more problem, and keep moving forward.
Until now.
When you run a small business, you expect hard seasons. You expect setbacks. But this became something more than a difficult season. It became an undeniable realization that this was no longer the path God had for us.
After Hannah felt called to attend Bible college, something began to shift. As hard as I tried to hold things together and make it work, doors continued to close, plans continued to unravel, and the grace that had carried us for so many years seemed to be leading us somewhere new.
This decision has not come easily. It has been made through countless conversations, prayers, tears, and sleepless nights. We truly believed we would be here for many years to come. We invested our hearts, our time, our resources, and our dreams into Jonny Boy Cookies.
Yet through all of this, we are overwhelmed with gratitude.
We are grateful for every customer who placed an order, every wholesale partner who believed in us, every employee who worked alongside us, every friend and family member who supported us, and every person who encouraged us when things were difficult. You helped turn a simple cookie into something much bigger than we ever imagined.
Jonny Boy Cookies was never really about cookies. It was about relationships, community, generosity, and creating moments of comfort and joy. We have been blessed to be a small part of so many celebrations, milestones, and everyday moments over the past thirteen years.
While this chapter is coming to a close, we trust that God is writing the next one. We don't know exactly what the future holds, but we know He has been faithful every step of the journey, and we believe He will continue to be.
