Bluebird Ridge is a family farm located in Milan, Pennsylvania. You can find grassfed beef, pastured veal, chicken and pork at our farm store.
We also run a registered Berkshire hog herd, selling feeder piglets and breeding stock.

Cows are always hard at work! 🐃🥩
Cows probably seem pretty lazy to people who don’t know much about them, seeing as they spend a third of their day just laying down…
But did you know when cows are laying down they’re actually doing one of the most important parts of being a cow? They’re ruminating!
Rumination is the process where little microbes break up the plant material that a cow eats, this is what makes cows such a productive part of the food system. These amazing animals are turning human inedible products (like grass) into a nutrient dense super food (beef & milk).
From the outside looking in, it appears cows are just lazy, but really they are some of the most productive animals on the planet 🐮💪🏻🥩

Dinner tonight is bluebird ridge farms pork!!
We just picked up our pork and it looks amazing!!!! Can’t wait to taste the finished product.
When you need dinner to be easy AND delicious!
Baked BBQ Pork Chops and Potatoes
2 lb pork chops Bluebird Ridge Farm
4 red potatoes in small cubes (about 1 inch)
1 T olive oil
1 c. prepared Epicure BBQ Sauce Mix
Toss your cubed potatoes in the olive oil with a little salt and pepper. I cooked everything in my iron pan, but you can use what you have. Bake your cubed potatoes for 15 min at 425 degrees. While they are baking, pour the sauce over your pork chops and then toss them around until they are well covered. When the timer goes off, push the potatoes to a corner of the pan, and add your pork chops in a single layer. Brush with BBQ sauce, bake at 425 for 15 min. When the timer goes off again, remove the entire pan. Flip the chops and baste again with BBQ sauce, then broil about 8 in from the element for about 8 min. Baste again, put back under the broiler for another minute. Serve with vegetable of choice.

Quarantine cooking sometimes means getting a little creative with your ingredients so I will give you some sub options.
Cook 1/2 c. Rice in 1 c. Chicken broth or water and set aside
Brown 1 lb sliced Garlic Sausage (I used Bluebird Ridge Farm). You could also use an Italian sausage but then add either 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 1/2 tsp Epicure Minced Garlic, or garlic powder to taste)
I chopped one pepper and 1 large yellow onion and tossed it right in with the sausage as it browned. Add a little olive oil to the pan if you need it.
Once your meat is cooked, sprinkle it all with 1 tsp Basil, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp Epicure Smoked Paprika.
Stir in one small can diced tomatoes with juice, and bring to a simmer.
Stir in your cooked rice and serve.

I'm a messy cook. This Egg Roll In A Bowl called for a bag of coleslaw mix, so I grated cabbage and carrot all over everywhere. The dog loves carrots which means the floor is licked clean. You can use ground turkey, I used Bluebird Ridge Farm ground pork. Served with a side salad with Epicure Sesame Ginger Dressing!
