🏡 Stay next door in our on-site guest rentals The Sandy Spring was a natural spring the fed into the old farmhouse, where we currently reside. Our daughter is the 6th generation to live here. There are fond memories of visiting my great grandmot

her as a child and dipping an old tin cup into the large barrel of water where the spring entered the house. Original plans for the brewery were for it to be located in the old red T-barn on the farm, that also dated back to the 1800’s. In fact, we had an inspection to determine its structural integrity with positive recommendations that the barn would stand for another 75 years. Sadly, 4 days later after this inspection in 2013, it was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. Fortunately we were able to salvage several of the old and now fire-scarred barn beams and floor joists. This wood will be featured throughout our new taproom in downtown Minerva. The tree in our logo symbolizes the massive old oak tree that stands by itself towering in the center of our farm. We often refer to it as our “Tree of life”. It represents our heritage and history of the farm and the now 6 generations of family who have come to call it home. Although it was terribly sad to see the barn burn, we are incredibly excited for our new location of Sandy Springs Brewing Company at the center of downtown Minerva and look forward to being a big part of the growing community. We will feature American and European style ales with an atmosphere that promotes a community and family-centered place to meet, spend great times, and create lasting memories. We look forward to seeing you in our taproom (Opening- October 2017) to enjoy with us our local hand-crafted beer.

Wherever Alex and Caitie are, they bring the good vibes!

If you’ve ever seen Alex perform at the Brewery, you know it’s so much more than simply playing music—it’s a legitimate show. He has been here since 10:30 this morning setting up lights, bubbles, fog machines and even pyrotechnics for tonight!

The amount of time, energy and heart Alex and Caitie put into making everything they do so special never goes unnoticed. They bring so much fun and positive energy wherever they go, and we appreciate and love them more than words can say.

A couple of months ago, Andy and Amanda at Sandy Springs Brewing Company in Minerva got together with Brett Magilavy of Diamond Deli and his wife Cori and brewed up a collab inspired by the Akron delicatessen’s iconic Carrot Cake dessert. The result of that brew day? A 10.5% imperial ale—C.A.K.E.: Carrots & Keno Everywhere—tapped several months ago in the Minerva taproom.

Brewed with carrot cake spices, lactose, vanilla and walnuts, this decadent collaboration has now been packaged and arrives at Diamond Deli in Akron around 9 AM today.

Only about 96 bottles are expected:

🥕 22-ounce bottle
💎 10.5% ABV
🎟️ Carrot cake sticker included
💵 $20 each

With fewer than 100 bottles available, this one probably won’t sit around long. The optional cream cheese and walnut rim doesn’t come with the bottles, so you’ll have to visit Minerva or make your own at home, if that’s your jam.
