Moonflower's Datura Deli prepares hot breakfast and lunch daily as well as a wide variety of freshly baked pastries and grab and go sandwiches, salads, desserts and spreads. We are pleased to announce our spring 2026 grant recipient, the ! 🌱

The Youth Garden Project cultivates healthy children, families, and community through educational programs and connecting people with food from seed to table.

Our grant selection committee decided to award this spring’s grant to YGP’s summer 2026 “Table Talks” series: four educational workshops on topics aimed at increasing local food system production and resilience, followed by garden-fresh, themed dinners prepared by YGP staff.

The funds from this grant will be used to provide ingredients for these dinners, which will connect the workshops’ topics with nutritious, locally sourced food. With this grant assistance, they will also be able to offer one of these workshops for free, reducing financial barriers and providing an opportunity for all community members to learn valuable skills and enjoy a healthy, garden-fresh meal.

We look forward to contributing to this workshop series this summer!

What do you get when you take sweet brown rice 🌾 and:

• pound it into a smooth, sticky dough? 🤔

Hint: It's been a traditional celebratory food in Japan for centuries, and you can enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack. It softens and puffs into moist cakes with a crisp, chewy crust from slow pan sizzling or when baked at 350° for 8-10 minutes. It's great as is or with a little shoyu, wrapped in nori sea vegetable, or in miso soup. It's also popular wrapped around red bean paste or ice cream!

Thanks to the families that joined our “Build Your Zen Garden” kids’ class with !

Join us for our next one this Sunday! We will be practicing beach-themed yoga, creating sensory “breathing bottles” that will be used for a mindfulness exercise, and making a healthy, cooling summer snack of frozen yogurt-dipped bananas!

Free and open to all as always!

Solar Roast has been roasting 100% certified organic coffee using solar energy since 2004! Founders Mike and David Hartkop invented the world’s only commercial solar-powered coffee, and by not burning any fossil fuels in their roasting process, they prevent 26,000 pounds of CO2 from being released into the environment per year! 🌎

Their custom built, one-of-a-kind roasters are located in sunny Pueblo, Colorado. They roast at low temperatures, creating a smoother coffee without the harsh, bitter finish. 😋

Local produce highlight 🥬 Have you tried the mizuna from ?

Mizuna is a leafy green in the Brassica family often used in traditional Japanese cooking (mizuna means “water greens” in Japanese). It has a mild, mustard-like peppery flavor, slightly sweeter than arugula.

Try it out!
• Eat it raw in salads
• Sauté the stems and leaves with onions or garlic as a side dish
• Add to stir fries, soups, or stews at the end of cooking
• Substitute mizuna for basil or spinach in your favorite pesto recipe

These classes include an opportunity for kids to move and practice yoga, learn balance and body awareness, and get some exercise. Participants also get a mindfulness/breathwork lesson and enjoy healthy, simple snacks.
