Huge thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate 13 years as Utah’s first natural foods cooperative yesterday! 🥳

Every day we’re grateful for this co-op and for our owners and supporters who believe in our mission of providing healthy, sustainable foods and goods for and giving back to our community.

And thank you to our owners who shared their dreams and goals for our new location, which will be years down the line, but is nonetheless an exciting development in Moonflower’s future 🙌 We are excited to continue investing in community, resilience, and the local economy for years to come, and we couldn’t do it without you! 💪

Join us this Friday, September 4th for a special artist reception with our featured local guest artist for the month of September, Nick Perdue! 🖼️

“For many years, I’ve enjoyed photography at a glance but truly reignited my passion for it two years ago through the medium of film photography. Through trial and error (and the occasional YouTube video) over the years, I have learned many techniques and began to establish a baseline composition style and artistic vision.

I’m a Colorado transplant with a typical Colorado upbringing, where my early introduction to the outdoors made me into an avid outdoorsman. While I enjoy outdoor recreation like many a Durangotang or Moabite, I like to find patterns and symmetry within man-made structures as well. Although I have been inspired by many landscape photographers like Ansel Adams and Dorothea Lange, I really enjoy challenging myself with other forms of photography such as street or portrait photography.

Working with the unpredictable nature of film photography, I have come to enjoy the imperfections within my photos as well. I have come to embrace wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that emphasizes the beauty within imperfections, and incorporate it into my art style, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Please come along and enjoy the wonderful perspective of the world I have captured through the eye of a lens.”

Stop by our Datura Deli community space and see what you think of Nick’s work. 📸 Light refreshments will be provided.

Mark your calendars!

It’s our (lucky) 13th year as Utah’s first member-owned natural foods store, and we would love for you to help us celebrate! 🥳

What are we celebrating?

🙌 Our owners: The 2200+ people who cooperatively own our business—including many of you and your friends, family, and neighbors!

📜 Our mission: To provide socially responsible foods, goods, and education to promote a healthy, sustainable community.

💰 The ways we support the local economy, such as providing a market for farmers and artisans to sell their goods, as well as for owners and patrons to keep their money local.

💁‍♀️ The ways we give back to our owners, local nonprofits, groups and events through member benefits and tens of thousands of dollars in donations each year.

🫂 The many free classes, events, and meals we host every year to provide access to health and wellness education and opportunities for our fellow community members to connect.

🌐 The connections we’ve fostered within the community, creating greater local resilience for all.

🌎 Our modus operandi: Putting people and planet over profit.

🥕 And on top of it all, being able to provide a rather impressive supply of sustainable, healthy, delicious, local foods in a tiny footprint (that will one day expand... more on that at our annual owner meeting—speaking of which...)!

Help us celebrate all these amazing things that our mighty little co-op does at our anniversary celebration, sale, and annual meeting on Sunday, August 30th!

🍉 Owners will receive 15% off all day, and all other customers will receive 5% off! Meet local growers and vendors, try out some free samples, and meet some of our Board of Directors.

📊 Hear the co-op’s year in review, community contributions, and Board of Director election results at our annual owner meeting at 5pm at the MARC.

🍽️ Afterwards, enjoy a free meal provided by our Datura Deli and mingle with fellow co-op owners and community members (open to all)! Vegan/gluten free options will be available.

🎸 Enjoy local band For the Faithful’s covers of the Grateful Dead over dinner!

See you there 🎉

Free food and live music?! Say less 🤘

All are welcome to join our free community meal following our annual owner meeting this Sunday!

And this year, local band For the Faithful will be playing while attendees enjoy dinner 🎸 Named for the alternate title of the Grateful Dead’s seminal acoustic album, Reckoning, For the Faithful is a fluid collective of local Moab musicians keen to faithfully share the meandering story-telling and spacious jams of The Grateful Dead.

Featuring:
Dave “Jerry” Garcia
Lisa Justice (Butch Cassidies)
Neal Clark (Slim Pickins)
Jeff Brennan (Slim Pickins, Sunflood)
Ed Stone (Stonefed)

Food will be served around 6pm with music to follow soon thereafter, in the Stage Room and outside on the MARC patio (111 E 100 N). Dinner will be provided by our talented Datura Deli staff, with vegan and gluten free options.

Did you know we do more than sell organic and sustainable foods? Providing educational opportunities for the community is also part of our mission, completely free and open to everyone.

Pictured are just some of the many classes we've hosted in the past. We usually host 2-3 per month on a variety of health and wellness subjects, such as healthy cooking, nutrition, permaculture, organic gardening, medicinal herbs, mental health, fermented foods/beverages, natural personal care, essential oils, and more!

Do you have culinary, nutritional, or health expertise that you’d like to share with the community? 👨‍🏫 We’re looking for more teachers for our free community classes. We provide fair compensation to instructors and provide ingredients for cooking classes!

Email [email protected] if you have an idea for a class you’d like to teach!
