Harvest 2026 kicked off for us today with Pinot Noir from Garnier Vineyards. If the views and the grapes look like this, you know it's going to be good wine.

What does it look like to test sugar levels in the vineyard? Here's Kevin cutting clusters of Grenache grapes into a big Ziploc bag as he walks down the row, and squishing up all those grapes as he walks back. The sugar levels in the resulting juice is then measured using a refractometer.

Kevin, our winemaker, spent a morning at Garnier Vineyards testing sugar levels in grapes to see when our 2026 harvest will begin. Right now, it's looking like early next week for the Pinot Noir (near 21° brix) with Sauvignon Blanc (over 18° brix) close behind. More testing to come...
