Testing time! Measuring pH, temp, free SO2, and specific gravity. Regular testing helps ensure oxidation and possible spoilage microorganisms are held in check, and to see if there is any ongoing fermentation, but TASTING is just as important.

Is the wine free of flaws? Is it maturing properly? And most important, does it taste good? At the end of the day, that's what matters.

Today is a labeling day for winemaker Kevin. We print our own labels so we have only as many as we need and hand labeling allows for an extra inspection step, just to be sure.

The 2024 is in bottle and almost ready for release and we think it's better than the 2023 reviewed here.

This Columbia Gorge Syrah offers aromas of dried black fruit with notes of sweet to***co and baking spice. On the palate it delivers a juicy, rounded mouthfeel of jammy black fruit balanced with nicely integrated tannins carrying notes of dark chocolate with minerally hints of iron and graphite carr...

What do you really want from a wine club?

The overstock bottles no one else wanted thrown into your allotment? Or would you rather choose from ANY available wines?

A couple free tastings a year? Or would you rather have free tastings whenever and be able to reserve your favorite spot (gazebo, pond, views from the river room, or cozy up to the wood stove in the cooler seasons, right in front of the AC when you come in from a bike ride) in advance AND be able to gift your membership to friends twice a year or bring a larger group for free?

Invites to crowded barrel tasting events anyone can go to? Or would you rather taste cellar samples of your favorite wine with the winemaker as it matures toward bottling?

Where else can you schedule workshops, classes, and seasonal hikes with the actual winemaker?

We're creating a different kind of wine club at Double Strand Wine. Interested?

We recently sold out of our Gold medal winning 2023 Syrah and Silver medal winning Tempranillo. Here we're furiously bottling the 2024 Syrah. A 2024 red blend and Tempranillo have also just been bottled to bring these favorites back ASAP.

Kevin, our winemaker, inspects and fills every bottle by hand and Ed, co-founder corks every bottle by hand.

When the wines are over bottle shock and ready to share, we'll let you know right here.
