We have been planting for weeks. Fortunate to have Jovi and Bella helping Kim, Dave and I. Kids have helped a few times as well.
Farming always has hiccups. Whether you break a shear bolt, bend a plate or waiting for a part there can be delays. And this year has thrown a few our way as we learn all the new equipment.
We are planting so many vegetables and herbs, several varieties of sunflowers and pumpkins. Going through the 10 totes of organized seeds has been fun planning beds and laying out companion plants.
I am always thinking about the farm and gardens, even while I sleep. lol. I woke up at 2:45am thinking I missed some seeds in our plans. So I began my email search for seeds ordered this year and low and behold I missed an entire order of flowers in the plans. 19 varieties 🫣🙃 (some will wait til spring but some sunflowers can be planted for fall harvest)
So we will be harrowing more beds once the harrow plate arrives. On a positive they are shorter harvest varieties so we still have time. And added bonus if we get them in for fall we can harvest the spent sunflowers so we will have plenty of seeds to plant next spring. 🌻 🎃 🌱
