Proud to see our Parmele Ranch Co. bison sirloin featured alongside products from other incredible local producers at the Ozarks Farm Stop. There’s just something special about a meal made with local ingredients from right here in the Ozarks.

Meet LEA Tamsin 🤎

Tamsin is one of the beautiful dunn girls in our Highland herd and has quickly become one of the sweetest, most attentive moms on the ranch. She has such a calm, gentle temperament, but she keeps a close eye on her calves and is incredibly maternal with her young.

One of the things we love most about Highlands is how naturally strong their mothering instincts are, and Tamsin is a perfect example of that. She’s patient, protective, and always nearby keeping watch over the little ones in the pasture.

Beyond her personality, we just can’t get over her rich dunn coloring, long shaggy coat, and classic Highland horns that make her absolutely stunning out in the Ozark hills. She definitely turns heads anytime guests or visitors see her.

We’re pretty lucky to have this girl as part of the herd around here.

Some views on the ranch just stop you in your tracks. 🌈

This rainbow showed up right over the Bunkhouse and it felt too pretty not to share. Moments like this are a big part of why we love this place so much. The quiet, the open space, the rolling hills, and the little reminders to slow down and appreciate where you are.

The Bunkhouse is one of our short term rentals on the ranch that we invite guests to come stay in. It is surrounded by nature, cattle, wildlife, and some pretty incredible sunsets and sometimes stormy skies with a little surprise like this. Life out here isn’t always perfect, but sometimes it does feel a little magical.

There’s something special about spring on the ranch. The past few weeks have brought so much new life to the property - from several new bison and Highland calves out in the pasture, to two new litters of puppies keeping us busy, and even a surprise baby deer spotted around the ranch.

It’s one of our favorite times of year here at Parmele Ranch Co. Watching the ranch wake back up after winter and seeing all these new little lives thriving out in the Ozarks never gets old.

The calves are growing fast, the puppies are full of personality already, and the baby deer has definitely stolen a few hearts around here.

We’re feeling very thankful for this season and all the life it brings. 🌾

This week’s spotlight is Nala of Crocus Hill 🤎

Nala is an AHCA registered Highland known for her beautiful coat, gentle personality, and striking presence out in the pasture. She’s one of those cows that always catches your eye.

We’re excited to keep introducing the herd one by one — and share more of the personalities, pedigrees, and stories behind them along the way.

We’ve officially expanded into Shorthorn cattle this year.

We’ve started building a small herd here in the Ozarks, and we’re excited about what these cattle bring to the ranch with their strong maternal traits, calm dispositions, beautiful coloring, and quality genetics. They’ve already been a fun addition to watch out in the pastures alongside our Highlands, Angus, and bison.

We’re still growing and learning with this breed, but we’re excited for what’s ahead and proud to continue diversifying the ranch one step at a time.
