With every breath and every bite, we sow and grow new worlds together 🌱

And ohhhhh, we love Olly Costello’s humble, astonishing & endlessly refreshing observation:

‘We are all temporarily not dirt.’

Friends, shall we become good soil and grow more fruitful futures together?

In the spirit of cultivating more fertile soils, in our gardens as well as imaginations, here is a cordial invitation without expectation 🌈

Join our periodic, joyful & delicious resurrection of the ancient art of the work party, which we gleeful call:

🌻 Becoming Good Soil Together 🌻

Our next gathering is Saturday, August 29th 🎉

Family, friends & kids of all ages are welcome 🌤️

Join us anytime between 10 am and dark (come for 20 minutes or the whole time, you’ll make our day every time!) and we’ll have outdoors & indoors activities for many ages & abilities:

tomato harvest & seed saving 🍅

Honeydew melon harvest & savoring 🍯

Watermelon radish & Icelandic poppy seed cleaning 🍉

Firewood stacking 🔥

seed packing ✨

And not least: harvesting, preparing & sharing an epic farm potluck feast mid-afternoon together  🥒

As always:

There will be songs 🎶

Come hungry with containers to bring food home for both & your neighbors, too 🫑

We’ll have all the tools we need; bring your own work gloves as you feel so moved 💛

Also 💫

If you’d love to grace and thank us beyond the gift of your presence (which is enough, never doubt 🙏), we need & would so welcome backyard eggs, hydrogen peroxide & organic olive oil 💗

And Friends!

Wherever you find yourselves 🌏

Enjoy the final moments of August and know you are always welcome here, never too soon or too and oh you are SO LOVED 🫛

Capitalism tells us all this is ‘free’ since we ask for zero market dollars as transactional currency, but just like those black raspberries ripening in the sun...
..we know these are gifts to nourish our interconnected community and all generations to come 🌿

How will we nourish and sustain each other, when we lead with gratitude and reciprocity?

Who will we be when we can’t buy belonging?

We don’t know, but we’ll meet you there 🫐

Friends, we dream of a world than sustains rather than pays us all…

…and in this spirit, we share Fruition’s material, relational & financial non-profit needs on our website under ‘contributions’ and if you’re able to joyfully share financial capacity with James Bird and Shake on the Lake, thanks for bringing this form of care with you, making their non-profit education mission possible ☀️

We are the seeds, we are the songs 🌈

My beloved friend Tracy and I…

…are doing a thing :)

And you are so invited, registry l!nk in b!o 🎉

We’re offering a 4-day retreat at the Folk Art Guild August 6th to 9th:

🌱 Seeds & Songs of Resilience 🌱

A tiny taste:

As the world unravels, seeds and songs keep us grounded.

Let’s explore how embodied creative practices can open pathways for personal and collective resilience.

If you love gardens and singing as acts of joy as well as resilience, welcome to a playful, thoughtful, and empowering space for curious growers and singers of all levels of experience to deepen presence and fluency in the language of plants as well as song.

Together we’ll craft an evolving, communal sanctuary of discovery.

We’ll play with song, explore gardens, forest bathe, honor our lineages, write, share silence, reflect and rest. Each session alternates between the seeds leading us (with Petra, co-founder of Fruition Seeds) and song as our muse (with Tracy, founder of Vocal Bloom). We’ll share solo, partner and group explorations supported by gentle facilitations designed to spark curiosity, creativity and connection.

With seeds and songs as our ancestors and mentors, we’ll explore practices growing our personal as well as collective capacity to respond creatively, cultivating joy and resilience in these times.

Thanks for joining us in body and / or spirit in all the ways & always, Friends!

Sending love as we celebrate interdepending independence 🌱

Among so many exquisitely tender paradoxes of our time 🌈

With gratitude for the ways seeds teach us about growth, grief, holding oppositional truths with grace & birthing visions beyond nations 🌻
