Things are gettin goin round here! We have 6 rows of potatoes, 4 rows of onions planted and the rest will be herbs and flowers. Shouldn’t have to fence this one in 🤞🏼 But last year we planted a cover crop of summer wheat in this spot later in the season, then mowed it down, and most of it winter killed. I did use a tiller just on the rows to be planted, but the paths are pretty clean and look mulched already! And this year I did some contouring, looks pretty cool too!

Completed on the first day of spring! Amendments down, finished raked ready for beet, carrot and pea seeds! It’s finally here! And today, almost 80 degrees I feel it, even with the snow! Lol

Blizzard of 26’
High tunnel had me worried, went out at 6am and 11am to knock off what I could reach on the roof, then it shed a huge amount all at once, saved me a lot of work. This is one storm I will never forget 😳 and it’s not over yet!

Well it sort of worked 🫤 tried to overwinter carrots that i planted too late for fall harvest. I saw a lot shriveled up so I actually gave up on these after the -45 temps. Went to work up the row and hello! Not the best texture but edible! Will try harder next year, on the plus side no voles or gophers ate them 👍🏼

Checkout the market online, happening this Saturday in Red Wing! I’ve got only a couple vegetables, baby kohlrabi and beets. But I also posted my peacock earrings and some wall hangings I made from our old barn wood. Lots of other goods to be had, take a look!
