Savory Chili Mac and Cheese
This dish is the ultimate comfort food—hearty, cheesy, and savory. It combines tender elbow macaroni with a thick, protein-packed chili base made of ground beef and kidney beans, finished with a generous layer of melted sharp cheddar.

Ingredients
250 g elbow macaroni

400 g lean ground beef

1 can (400 g) kidney beans, rinsed and drained

1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
Cook the Pasta: Boil the macaroni in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion until translucent, then add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.

Simmer the Chili: Stir in the garlic, chili powder, and cumin. Add the crushed tomatoes and kidney beans. Let the mixture simmer on low for 10–15 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Combine: Fold the cooked macaroni into the chili mixture until thoroughly coated.

Melt the Cheese: Top the entire mixture with shredded cheddar. Cover the pot with a lid for 2 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and completely melted. Serve hot
