Year three with the herd!!!!

This guy had big shoes to fill after the heartbreaking loss of our big herd boss Alex 💔 boy did he deliver! Thorvold threw six sets of triplets and even a set of quintuplets… our biggest year to date! (Perks of a young buck!)

We are making some changes this year and retiring some of our heavy hitting does to live out their days being grass puppies!!

This guy however is gonna be putting his work boots on! We are just one month out from our Fall breeding and if you wander over by the buck barn you can sure smell that it’s on the horizon 😂

Picking keeper does is ALWAYS hard for me because I love everyone 😩 I am just a sucker for those chocolate does with brown eyes.

I went into this year hoping to retain five replacement does (giant eye roll from Logan) so we compromised and I only kept two 😂 gotta give him the upper hand every once in awhile.

We were late to the party but just so happened to be watching The Walking Dead during kidding season so our two keeper does this year are Miss Daryl Dixon “DIXIE” and our beautiful Lucille “LUCY” who I will post very soon!

I think one thing we can all agree on is small businesses supporting other small businesses!!

We had the pleasure of connecting with Burris Mini Farm earlier this Spring when they made moves to expand their goat herd!

Dogs and goats are two things I can talk for days about which lead us straight into the homemade probiotic digestive supplement these ladies carefully curated based off of what has benefited and helped their own pups!!

Hot spots are one of my biggest enemies and boy did they hit all three of our sweet boys BAD this summer. I messaged JayDen frantically a couple of weeks ago because we had ran out and it was quickly showing through all the itching and licking and worst of all Pope had zero energy. She quickly shipped me more and just days later our boys are back to having full energy and working to keep our herd and home safe!!!

The girls are giving you FULL permission to get your Fall decor out this weekend! It’s time!! Our favorite season of the year is on the horizon! Those crispy mornings and cool evenings are just what the doctor ordered for our herd!

The herd is looking awesome and we will soon start prepping and planning for our 2027 Spring Kidding!!!

A freshly mowed pasture may look beautiful, but for goats, “golf course short” isn’t always the healthiest choice. Sometimes leaving a little extra height can help reduce parasite exposure and support a healthier herd.

As always, pasture management is just one piece of parasite control. F***l testing, targeted deworming, proper nutrition, and good grazing practices all work together to keep your goats healthy. ❤️🐐

Gate keeping secrets to success is just weird.

Healthy goats = happy goats = happy humans

Let me tell ya! I may be way late to the party on this one but I’m 100% impressed to physically see the difference since I have started implementing black oil sunflower seeds into my girls diets!

They are more energetic and their coats are so sleek and shiny! Their immune systems have improved drastically and they love them!

Soooo buy your goats the BOSS! You won’t regret it ✊🏼

Now this is something to smile about! 🤍

Callie Jo one of our foundation does blessed another family with her babies this week! This incredible veteran walked right up onto the milk stand ready to rock and roll for her final phase this baby season!

I’m not sure where our herd would be without this girl but we are sure thankful to have her!

The barn cats are thrilled and the three dogs were a little more spoiled than usual tonight with fresh goat milk! 🌾🥛🌾

So blessed to be reminded daily how special this life is! 🍀
