Low FODMAP is low-lactose, not dairy-free. That's probably the single most common misconception, and it costs people a lot: many aged and hard cheeses are naturally low in lactose, and lactose-free milk, yogurt, kefir, cream cheese, and ice cream are all fair game.
The pattern repeats across the whole diet. No food group gets eliminated, you're swapping within them. Kiwi instead of mango. Green beans instead of asparagus. Walnuts instead of cashews. Quinoa or millet instead of rice for the fifth night in a row.
Most low FODMAP burnout isn't the diet being too hard. It's running a much longer list as if it were five foods, usually because the "safe" list someone found early on was incomplete and never got revisited.
Swipe for six places to add variety back: produce, grains, legumes, unfamiliar foods, herbs and spices, and a reminder about how long this phase actually lasts.
