I’ve seen people line up and rave about this Greenpoint spot and I get it now but it’s not why you think. Bernie’s Restaurant is a classic American/italian restaurant with red-checkered table cloths with a dive bar/diner feel. It’s a small menu and there’s no pasta on there. And it’s walk-in only. You’re not going cuz it’s the best burger or chicken parm you’ve ever had.. you’re going cuz it’s a solid neighborhood spot that’s just a good vibe all around. Portions are also big. So it’s meant for family style.

Lined up for dinner and here’s what we got:
Caesar salad
Mozzarella sticks
Cheeseburger
Chicken parm
Brownie sundae with vanilla and mint chip

Lowkey one of the best Persian restaurants in NYC but not easily accessible. Berenjak comes from London and is currently open to SoHo house members only in (dumbo house) Dumbo, Brooklyn. they’re serving some really great kabobs (reminded me of the ones I’ve had in Iran) and some traditional and elevated apps like truffle olovieh.

We ordered little bit of everything as I like to do:
Apps-
Breads - barbari & sangak
Mirza ghasemi
Kashk bademjoon
Mast o musir
Truffle Olivieh (surprised how much I loved this one)
Black Hummus - least fave of the apps

Kabobs:
Koobideh
Jujeh
Tikkeh masti
Chenjeh

Stew:
Ghaimeh bademjoon - I’d skip her.

Dessert:
We got one of each of whatever they had. Pictured is the Persian tea ice cream

I was lucky enough to go with a friend who’s a member

Fun fact: last year i made it my mission to go here and i told everyone i met lol but I actually ended up visiting their Dubai location instead (you don’t need to be a member there) which was great.

Anyway, Thank you god and friends who made this happen hehe always so grateful

This Aussie Sports Pub in Fidi is serving an amazing Chicken Burger Old Mates Pub 🍔 Comes with spiced honey, peri peri mayo, cheese, and hot & sour pickles. Also got their Cheeseburger with brown butter onion jam, onions, ketchup, dijonnaise, and hot & sour pickles and it was also great. Both were on sesame buns 👌🏻

Come for the sports and the food. They have multiple rooms inside and have an outdoor area too. All around good vibes. Will be back for the vibes, burgers and probs the rest of the menu.

This is one of the best classic Greek restaurants I’ve been to in NYC..

made my way to Astoria, Queens for lunch with the fam Bahari Estiatorio and here’s what we got:

-Kyra Pikilia – an assortment of traditional dips. The tzatziki was incredible, and I also loved the melitzanosalata (eggplant dip).
-Oktapodi Scharas- classic grilled octopus w/ olive oil & red wine vinegar
-Greek salad
-Branzino
-Paidakia- baby lamb chops with lemon & herbs - the best
-Mousakas- eggplant & potato w beef topped w/ béchamel
-Sides- rice & lemon potatoes

Honestly you can’t go wrong with anything here. It’s a pretty casual spot but can’t skip the tzatkiki, octopus and lamb chops. Will be back 👌🏻

Another great meal Zaffron Bloom - family owned Iranian restaurant in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Took the squad this time and here’s what we got and you should too:
-Zaytoon Parvardeh - marinated olives. They do it best
-Kashk Bademjoon - traditional eggplant whey dip. They also do it best
-Mast musir- I get this anywhere
-Tahdig with Ghorme Sabzi and Gheymeh - can’t get this much tahdig anywhere these days
-Kabob Soltani combo (koobideh and barb) + extra chicken skewer - tbh I was hungry and couldn’t decide lol but as I always say.. when in doubt it, get it all

-Dessert- they were out of their saffron ice cream sandwiches and somehow I’m glad because their sundae HIT. It’s topped with Albaloo (sour cherry syrup) and Pashmak (Persian cotton candy)
