Creamy Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Serves 2
Time: 5 minutes
What you need:
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1/2 cup crushed ice
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
How to make it:
Add strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk, honey, ice, and vanilla to a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Add a splash more milk if it is too thick.
Pour into 2 glasses and serve cold.
Tip: Frozen strawberries make it thicker without adding extra ice.
Watermelon Lime Cooler
Serves 2
Time: 10 minutes
What you need:
3 cups seedless watermelon cubes
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon agave or honey
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 teaspoon lime zest
Ice cubes
Lime slices
Fresh mint
How to make it:
Blend watermelon, lime juice, agave, cold water, and lime zest.
Strain if you want it smoother.
Fill 2 glasses with ice.
Pour the cooler over the ice.
Add lime slices and mint.
Tip: Chill the watermelon first so the drink stays cold longer.
Creamy Cinnamon Horchata
Serves 2
Time: 10 minutes, plus soaking
What you need:
1/2 cup long-grain white rice
2 cups warm water
1 cinnamon stick
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice cubes
Pinch of ground cinnamon
How to make it:
Add rice, warm water, and cinnamon stick to a bowl.
Cover and let it soak at least 4 hours, or overnight.
Remove the cinnamon stick.
Blend the rice water until cloudy and smooth.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer.
Stir in condensed milk, whole milk, and vanilla.
Serve over ice with cinnamon on top.
Tip: Strain it twice if you like a smoother drink.
Orange Pineapple Carrot Juice
Serves 2
Time: 10 minutes
What you need:
2 large oranges, peeled
1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1 large carrot, peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup cold water
Pinch of ground turmeric
Ice cubes
How to make it:
Add oranges, pineapple, carrot, lemon juice, water, and turmeric to a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Strain if you want it thinner.
Pour over ice.
Stir before sipping.
Tip: Chop the carrot small so it blends easier.
Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca
Serves 2
Time: 10 minutes
What you need:
1 large English cucumber, chopped
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 cups cold water
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup ice cubes
Lime slices
Cucumber slices
Fresh mint
How to make it:
Blend cucumber, lime juice, cold water, and honey.
Strain into a pitcher.
Fill 2 glasses with ice.
Pour over the ice.
Add lime slices, cucumber slices, and mint.
Tip: Peel half the cucumber if you want a lighter green color.
Creamy Papaya Nectar
Serves 2
Time: 5 minutes
What you need:
1/2 large ripe papaya, peeled and seeded
1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 cup coconut milk
Ice cubes
Pinch of salt
How to make it:
Add papaya, water, lime juice, honey, coconut milk, and salt to a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Add more water if you want it thinner.
Pour over ice.
Serve cold.
Tip: Use a very ripe papaya so the drink blends smooth and sweet.
