We had service work scheduled at Owen's in Effingham first thing this morning, so we had time on our hands. The head service tech and I were talking ,lucky they were to still have building intact, and we ask , just where was thst tornado down here ....and he said just a mile from my house ,which was just northwest of there ,so dad I went for a drive, and I couldn't go pass the Stilwedal farm ,and witnessing people all over walking corn fields for debris ,without stopping and Saying we have time to burn , What can we do to help .Dad n I walked, and walked, picking up shingles,2x4s, metal ,seedboxes, nails and even golf balls .had lunch with these families, neighbors and the like...
WHEN ...you think you've had a bad day , just try to swallow this devastation .Stilwedal son said while we walked ,that house there we walked into the basement and less then thirty seconds later the roof got sucked off. At one point I wepted for these people. IT WAS SO SO HEART RENCHING one photo shows a brand new grain leg , gone!! There is a pic of a 1927 John Deere tractor upside down ,n i could go on snd on .
