the last week to get locally grown blooms from us — location is in stories 🌸🍂 your support this year has been a huge pillar in my life this season. growing flowers at this scale is hard, selling them is far harder. all of the events on the farm have been amazing. and all of the events away from the farm have been amazing too & im so grateful to have been invited to them! you asked us! that is so amazing, so thank you! There were a few set backs this season but at the end of the day I am still in awe of what this season did for me. the verse we’ve used for the farm since day one has always been psalm 18:19, he brought me out into a spacious place, he rescued me because he delighted in me. this farm has done that and more and we’ll share more on it if we’re ever called to do so.

anyways - this is the last weekend for local flowers! our dahlias are giving their final push and we’ve finished labelling and verifying their blooms. now we wait for the big brown frost when everything dies back and we dig them up!

I’m working on narrowing down the amount of dahlia varieties we grow and I’m struggling because I do love them all but I also don’t need them all. I’ve culled a few for virus which helps eliminate the amount but not nearly enough 🙃 what’s a girl to do

dahlias are really showing off right now and hopefully will for 2 ish more weeks until season comes to a close. this time of year is absolute chaos 🥴 and I’m trying to beat the clock with all of my field organization and prep but it feels like I’m going in circles and not going to actually beat the frost. did I mention I have kids who are far busier than me!?! 😵‍💫🤪 we shall see!

Can I tell you something… last year I hated foliage and the year before that… and the year before that. but it’s growing on me. ESPECIALLY the most amazing fall foliage, mahogany splendor hibiscus. It stops everyone in there tracks when they see it because they think it’s a Japanese Maple in an arrangement 🍁 it’s truly remarkable

I was gifted 15 seeds of this earlier this season and each and every seed germinated. The plants grow over 5’ tall and produce strong branches. Legend has it, if you leave it long enough it’ll flower — but our zones season is coming to a close! I originally had this arrangment of MSH en masse but had some extra dahlias so I tossed them in just for funsies. Anyways — I’d highly recommend growing this foliage.

TIP! for wilting is to do the wiggle test prior to cutting just as you would a zinnia and store stems in a cool, dark room.

the dreamers disease is such an understatement IMO - I’ve been the ceo of many businesses since i was in single digits 🫠 drafted and designed my first office at age 10, writing contracts at age 11 and it just kept going from there 😂 actually hysterical because what do you MEAN I own a business (actually two) for REAL

dahlias and mixed bouquets in the flower shed this weekend 9/12 & 9/13 til sold out 🫶🏼🌸

every year it feels live I’ve just started my season but now we’re already in the home stretch, about one more month left of flowers or less

this year has been so busy - weddings, events, diy buckets etc etc that I have hardly had the flower shed open for bunches. I’m so grateful for all of the work (truly) but I’m also so excited to load the shed up with blooms a few more times before seasons end.
