Ok-
Funny- not so funny story of yesterday’s episode at the farm.
I had a lovely visit from Dan and Sharron- washed horses, Dan was working with Diamond ( bonding)
We put the horses away- and I gave the older boys their mash with medicine for joints. After Bourbon is done- Beauty goes over and licks his bucket clean- cause he’s a messy boy.
By this time Dan and Sharron had gone home.
I heard a huge bang in Bourbons open stall- ran out to find Beauty upset about the red bucket- I thought it had caught on her mane- but as I got closer I noticed she had pierced her left nostril with the hook and was quite fashionably hanging the red bucket from her pierced nostril.
She stood very still and allowed me/ her mama- to un hook the piercing.
I gave a round of tetanus shots and tried to clean as best I could. She’s doing fine, although it seems sore to her.
I should write a children’s book about “Beauty And The Red Bucket”
As she had once taken it off somehow and had it stuck on her leg- luckily she stood for me to rescue her both times.
Getting rid of that type of hook.

My privet plants are blooming!
I wrote a poem about my childhood memories driving up on vacation from Sacramento to my grandparents home on Fauntleroy waterfront beside the ferry- we had amazing memories there every summer.

Fauntleroy

Dear little Fauntleroy
Our home upon the sea
The ferry coming in to dock
My summer sandy knee

Memories of yesterday
Come flooding through my mind
As sweet scent of privet plants
Remind me of this time

I long to hear my barefoot sound
Of running across the stream
The echoes of childhood laughter
Now my faded nighttime dream

Dear little Fauntleroy
Our summer so complete
Our special evening dinners
Many friends and family to greet

I loved you little Fauntleroy
In my heart you’ll always be
To come out in my senses
When the privet smells by the sea
