A poem I wrote-
About—-
Life on the farm

When the house is clean——you’ll be Sad

Through the chaos of life with kids on a farm
I’ll treasure each day as we go
From the hand prints on windows
The shoes scattered round
All this chaos is love
Don’t you know
(I want to clean)

The days turn to nights
The time slips away
The children are growing up fast
The hustle and bustle of life on the farm
This time with our children won’t last
(Please let me clean)

But the house isn’t clean
Or it was at one time
another days life on the farm
Has turned it to mess and chaotic distress
Please don’t judge me -
The mess doesn’t harm
(Where is the broom?)

The years fly by
In a blink of an eye
The old farmhouse
Seems suddenly sad
The children have grown
With lives of their own
So don’t let this mess
Get you mad

Step out of the house
Put the dish soap away
Let the broom sit for
One- more -day

Give thanks to God
Your children are safe
Let them roll in the dust and the hay
(Don’t be mad)
Because-
When the house is clean-
You will be sad
