Each morning started the same way: a ritual on the land, to root us in the learning to come. That rhythm set the tone for everything that followed.

Gathering Fire 2026 is a wrap — and we are so grateful.

This year’s participants came from across the country — land stewards and farmworker advocates, policy organizers and coalition builders, farm educators and cultural workers — all rooted in rural communities. They arrived as facilitators and left as a community. We are humbled by the trust they placed in this space and moved by what they made possible together.

Deep gratitude to and for their mastery and heart, to the team for the radical hospitality that makes this possible, and to every participant who showed up fully.

Come celebrate our next holiday together at the ranch 🍔🍻

Join us for a laid-back Father’s Day celebration on Saturday, June 20th filled with BBQ fresh off the grill, cold drinks, lawn games, and pinball in the Hey! Barn. Bring the whole family and spend the afternoon soaking in the scenery, sharing a great meal, and celebrating Dad ranch-style.

🍴 Lunch: 3–5 PM
🍺 Bar Opens: 2:30 PM
🎮 Pinball: 5–6 PM

On the menu: Paicines Ranch burgers & grilled steak, fresh summer salads, cornbread with whipped honey butter, frites, brownies à la mode, and fresh-baked cookies.

At Paicines Ranch, our cattle, sheep, pigs, and turkeys move across 7,500 acres of organic crop and rangeland using holistic planned grazing — helping regenerate ecosystems, build healthy soil, increase biodiversity, improve the water cycle, and sequester carbon along the way.

“We talk hopefully about the seed bank and how long seeds may be viable, but I haven’t heard much discussion of dormant plants, and their potential to dramatically change a landscape incredibly quickly.
