Fall has arrived in the West.

Cool mornings. Golden afternoons. Leaves beginning to turn. Windows still open during the day and a blanket waiting for you when the sun goes down.

This is the season of long walks, warm kitchens, candles burning before dinner, books left open on the table, and finding a few more reasons to stay close to home.

Before the holidays arrive and everything begins moving quickly again, there is this.

Summer never seems to leave all at once.

The mornings have turned crisp. The nights are cooler. A little gold is beginning to show in the trees.

And on the last official day of summer, we’re getting one more warm afternoon.

Tomorrow, fall begins.

Today, we’ll take one more golden day, open the windows, stay outside a little longer, and savor that beautiful space between seasons.

Indian summer, we’ll take it.

Our cup is full. Our hearts are happy.

To everyone who filled our streets, supported our local businesses, carried on old traditions, made new memories, and celebrated another Round Up with us, thank you.

Pendleton is a little quieter today, and we’re tired in the very best way.
