Sometimes it takes a tree falling on your power line at midnight to remind you just how blessed you really are. ❤️

Last night, around midnight, a tree went down and took out the entire power line to our house. Thankfully, the farm still had power, but the house was completely out—and with no idea how long it would be before it was fixed, by 1:00 a.m. we were packing everybody up and heading to my dad’s house.

And I cannot even begin to explain what a blessing it is to know that when something goes wrong, we have somewhere to run. ❤️

We didn’t have to spend the night miserable and hot. We didn’t have to wonder what we were going to do. We just loaded up and went to Dad’s.

This morning I woke up around 6:00, and he was already gone to his Methodist Men’s meeting.

But before he left, he had made us a pot of coffee. ☕️

And y’all… he even left a bowl of dog food AND a probiotic treat out for my dog. 🥹🐾

That’s my daddy.

He didn’t make a big fuss about us showing up at 1:00 in the morning. He didn’t need to be asked to take care of us. He just quietly made sure everybody—even the dog—had what they needed before he went about his morning.

I am so incredibly blessed to have a father who has always made sure that no matter how old I get, I still know exactly where home is when I need somewhere to run. ❤️

The power line can be fixed. The tree can be cleaned up. But having a daddy like mine?

That is something I will never, ever take for granted.

I have the most amazing father, and today I’m feeling especially thankful to be his daughter. ❤️

So last night in the middle of the night, a tree went down in our yard, and it took out the entire power line going from the street to our house. Our house was the only thing affected. The farm is on a different line altogether so the animals had water and power all night long. Meanwhile, my family did not. We are so blessed to live very close to my father who swooped into the rescue and took us all in for the night so that none of us had to sleep hot. I woke up this morning and he had gone to his Methodist men’s prayer meeting early and left us a pot of coffee and even my dog a bowl of food and a special probiotic treat just for him thank you papa for all that you do. You’re an amazing human. We’re so blessed that when emergencies happen all we have to do is run to papa.

That Champion Showmanship title is something to be mighty proud of! It takes hours of practice, patience, pig walking, and learning how to make every move count once you step into that ring. 💪🐷

And then to back it up with two 3rd place finishes makes the weekend even sweeter!
