Everytime I free range Gremlin follows me everywhere. Gremlin is first out the door to free range. Gremlin is first to greet me every time I come to the coop and then is under my feet the whole time I'm in here. I adore my little Gremlin 🥰

I'm starting a little series where I share a bit about different chicken breeds! This weeks breed: Buff Orpington, featuring Pippa

Buff Orpingtons are one of my favorite breeds! They're friendly birds that love attention and snacks. I've had color variations of light tan to a warm brown like in the picture, sometimes they're even pinkish like the bottom 2 eggs. I have a buff orpington hen that lays beautiful freckled/speckled eggs and others that lay with a heavy bloom often making it look speckled with tiny white dots! The heavy blook also seems to make them look pinkish. In my experience with them they're cold hardy tho you have to keep an eye on their large combs and wattles for frost bite. They have also done well in 110°F heat this summer. Mine haven't really been broody and none have raised chicks so I can't speak on that. All my buff roos have been friendly, the hens follow me around often.
