Jenkins Garlic Fest 2026 success 👏 🎉 🧄 👏
We are so fortunate to have these incredible friends that come together with us up celebrate the delicious -ness of garlic 🧄 💕 This is a pot luck of culinary beauty highlighting this versatile allium. The friendly competition culminates in a whimsical Kazoo Parade for the grand winners of three categories that each attendee votes for 😊. It is encouraged not to vote for your own recipe but someone else's. Everyone is also encouraged to try EVERYTHING 😆 that's a hard task when there are 29 dishes winking at your taste buds 😋 We pace ourselves and most come through successfully 💪

When a bag pulled from the freezer wasn't what I thought and you need to use a few things.....ham cooked off the bone making a nice meaty broth for onions, zucchini, orzo, garlic, peppery spices, and topped with homemade croutons and Monterey Jack cheese. Breakfast for dinner is in order when someone gifts you a beautiful loaf of homemade sour dough bread 🤩
Garden peppers, tomato, and onion give some texture and brightness to a pillowy country scramble with a sprinkle of sharp cheddar and chives. That lovely toast was a perfect compliment and good to the last crumb 😋 🍞

Being creative adding those garden elements to every meal 😊 Here's what's for supper 🤩
Delicious ramen with kohlrabi, zucchini, green pepper and shrimp and a beautiful roasted beet salad with toasted walnuts and warm discs of herby goat cheese in panko, quickly fried in some olive oil. A drizzle of fig glaze to boot 😋 😋 😋 I could have eaten a big platter of this 🫜 💕
This summer gave me a new found love for kohlrabi, the alien looking root veg that is kinda like cabbage, but kinda like a radish, but kinda like a turnip 😲 they grew well in my garden and stored well too!
