First sunshine-y day in FOREVER! โ๏ธ Finally got to check the bees after weeks of not being able to visit due to all the rain. Sheesh, have I missed a lot!
Some colonies were busy just doing their thang, a few were total show-offs making the rest look bad, while others werenโt so productive or fortunate. Sadly, I lost two hives to small hive beetles, and Iโm so upset about it. Not being able to get out there, check on them, and help them when they needed it most has been so frustrating. All you ever want is to give your bees the best chance possible, and itโs heartbreaking when things donโt go that way.
Beekeeping is an incredibly humbling experience. Even after 10 years, Iโm still learning, still figuring things out, and still trying to do right by these tiny creatures. Managing pests, maintaining hive health, and dealing with unpredictable weather is a constant challenge.
Regardless of the upset, it was great to get back in the Beeyard and enjoy some bee therapyโฆAND SUNSHINE!! Enough whining for today.
๐๐ Get outside and enjoy the day!!
