Everyone has been asking a lot of questions about our 1.5 year old Eros being gelded yesterday . So here are some answers .
1) how is Eros doing ? He is doing really well this morning . Obviously a bit sore. I just gave him his first dosing of pain, meds for the day, and I will do so again at 10 PM tonight. He is eating great and slept a lot last night . Overall Eros is Ball-less and flawless 😎
2) why did I decide to geld Eros? After talking to many people that were interested in buying him as a stud c**t It started becoming very clear to me that people were in love with the idea of a stud c**t, but had close to zero idea of how to handle one. You have to put a lot of time into a stud. There are a lot of places they are not allowed to be in and you always have to be in a very different state of awareness. Stallions also get sold and traded much more than a gelding . Now he can go to any boarding facility, on any trail ride (when he’s old enough), he can be in a group of mares, geldings, or stallions no matter where he goes and be safe and happy. The biggest thing is for him not to be isolated. I am absolutely in love with Eros’s breeding . He comes from incredible lines , he has fantastic conformation and is very smart and kind. He would have made absolutely beautiful babies. I thought seriously about that. However , What is more important than his future babies is my 1.5-year-old baby having the best life he possibly can. Finding the perfect home for him. Also by me gelding him I was able to keep his balls to gild and gift to my neighbor during Christmas . I call it the gilded gelded line of jewelry .
3) speaking of my neighbor, stable Mabel- will gelding him make my neighbor happy? Not like I give two 💩 about her happiness but no . Even as a gelding Eros will still drop his p***s and show it to anyone who will look . He will still drop when relaxed or warm . There are also a lot of geldings that still use it to play percussion on their belly . I call it the song of love . Just because a gelding can no longer make babies, does not mean they can’t enjoy a little me time .
4) do you need to do anything with him while he recovers ? Yes we keep him on Bute twice a day for pain, and we are supposed to trot or run him 20 minutes twice a day . This keeps the wound open enough to continue draining. This part always freaks me well the hell out. Not going to lie . Whenever I think about it I feel faint . I mean the running and stretching after his coconuts were just harvested ? Makes me want to re-visit my fruity pebbles I just ate . I will also check for swelling, too much drainage and just overall comfort. This is a very common procedure and the chances are he will be absolutely fine.
5) why not have the future owner geld him when they get him and save yourself the money? This is easy !!! Eros is my responsibility. I wanted to make sure it was done and done right.
6) Do you believe in aliens ? I’m not sure what this has to do with gelding Eros, but yeah I do. I am pretty sure I met one at Walmart one time when visiting Eugene .
I hope this answered everybody’s questions, and I will keep everybody up-to-date. We will also be filming some of his exercising and running in the outdoor turnout. Unless for some reason it starts looking like a kill Bill film then we probably would not post that.
In all seriousness, thank you everybody for how respectful you’ve been with your questions and for how much you care. 🖤😎⚾️⚾️
