So, 50 years ago on August 13, 1976 which was Friday the 13th everything changed for Uncle Stacy 2 years after Uncle Gary got hurt. Uncle Stacy became paralyzed playing football his senior year with Coach Ray Akins at Gregory-Portland High School. He was 16 and turned 17 a couple weeks later on August 26th. He is now 66 and will be 67 on August 26th. He said he was young and dumb. After that happened he spent 2 weeks at Memorial Hospital in Corpus and then 3 months at TIRR in Houston and then he came home for Thanksgiving. The first few pictures are of him before he got hurt. On November 17, 1979 he married Aunt Cynthia at the Portland Church of Christ. She was his high school sweetheart. They adopted 3 children who are my 3 cousins Stacy Lynn, Sterling, and Caleb. The 15th picture is him holding me when I was a baby.
The last picture is his whole entire family. They have 5 grandchildren who refer to them as Gran Gran and Pops. On November 17th Uncle Stacy and Aunt Cynthia will be married for 47 years. I am so very thankful that Aunt Cynthia has taken really good care of him after all these years and many more to come.
I’m so very thankful that he is doing so good and loves doing what he does. I’m so very thankful that Aunt Cynthia cares so deeply for him.
Love my Uncle Stacy so so much!
