Today I have made Salmon Chowder. It may be the last batch till fall. But today’s weather mandated a batch. My other soups will be tomato vegan and gluten-free, roasted vegetable, vegan, and gluten-free. And I have 3 quarts of the old wives tale. Hungarian mushroom left for today. . Today’s picture is roughly 50 years old. But I was super cute playing baseball.

Happy Saturday I am out of the Hungarian mushroom soup for the day. I do still have potato leek, salmon, chowder, and tomato available.

I am very late posting today sorry. My soups for the day are salmon chowder gluten-free. Potato leek, vegan and gluten-free, tomato vegan and gluten free and I am still running the old wives tale. I have three different soups today they all will pair nicely with a grilled hot sandwich. The choices today are my tomato, chicken and dumpling, and the Portland, famous old wives tales Hungarian mushroom. Today’s random pick is of a cake I made for my grandson and daughter-in-law for their shared birthday. I’m a good baker, but not a good decorator. Have a lovely day.

My mother is 83 years old. My goal is to spend as much time with her as possible. So with that in mind, I will be closing today Saturday at 4 PM and I will stay closed Sunday and Monday. I will reopen regular business hours on Wednesday. I hope you all have a fantastic Mother’s Day.

Many people who have lived in Portland for a while will remember The Old Wives Tale restaurant. The family reached out to me and asked me to partner with them to distribute their Hungarian mushroom soup. I am proudly selling that incredibly delicious soup. It is available in a quart size for $20 cold. Limited quantities available. I will also be serving it warm for people that come to the cart and want to eat it right away.

It is going to be way too hot this weekend. I will enjoy it. However, it’s gonna be too hot for me to have soup. I will still carry the tomato because some people like grilled cheese even when it’s hot. If the weather stays like this, I will start venturing into my chilled soups. But I feel like it’s still a little too early for that. One of my regular customers was in this movie many years ago, and I was inspired to find a clip with him in it. Yesterday was my grandson and daughter in law’s birthday. They get to request what I make every year. My grandson wanted Sushi. That is not my forte so, I bought it. My daughter-in-law loves vegan quiche. So that I made, and then of course, fruit and potatoes to round out the meal.
Today’s soups will be, simply chicken gluten-free. Tomato vegan, and gluten-free. And roasted zucchini vegan and gluten-free.
I will be closing early as my grandson has his very first volleyball game this evening.
