The staff and volunteers at Positive Strides are absolutely amazing. The kindness, patience, and genuine care they show both the riders and the horses is truly something special. This program has made such a wonderful impact on my son, and I am so grateful for the experiences and relationships he has gained there.

One of my favorite things is hearing him wake up on riding days and say, “I can’t wait to see my boy, Clacky!” The bond he has formed with Clacky means so much to him, and seeing how excited he is to go each week means so much to me.

This month we'll be showing Misty 🐴, the story of the Chincoteague pony made popular by writer Marguerite Henry's award-winning novel. The Chincoteague Annual Pony Swim just celebrated their 101st year.

Time: Event begins at 7:00 but be sure to come early to meet one of our horses 🐴before the movie begins!

This short video looks at how equine-assisted therapy has helped reduce symptoms in youth on the autism spectrum — the connection between horse and rider can support communication, sensory regulation, and confidence in ways that are hard to replicate elsewhere.

It's a great reminder of why we do what we do here at Positive Strides Center. Every session, our riders build trust with their horse, work on balance and focus, and grow more confident — all while having fun outdoors.
