June is National Dairy Month. It's a time to remember there's a real person (and a real animal) behind every drop.

Small scale farmers don't clock out. We're here before sunrise and long after sunset, doing the work that keeps local food alive. If you've ever wondered where goat milk really comes from, come see us. Come feed a baby goat from a bottle. Come pull a stool up and watch what real dairy farming looks like.

To every farmer out there doing the same... we see you. This month and every month. 🤍

Okay, I'm a rancher not a photographer, so excuse the distance discrepancy between the before/after photos..

Miss Ginger is only 8 days fresh, and I just have to brag that shes already consistently been giving just shy of 2 quarts a day. Currently, I'm milking and giving right back to the babies, but over the next 2 weeks I'll be transitioning the babies to whole cows milk so I can start keeping the goats milk for myself.

If you're looking for milk production lines, I have 2 bucklings that will be looking for new pastures!

They say good fences make good neighbors… but around here, they show up with an Amazon box containing a brand new goat milking stand when your girls are about to kid any day now 🥹

In a world where people barely know who lives next door, we put in gates to share pastures, take turns farm sitting, and rotate dinners at each others houses. Homestead life is a whole lot sweeter when you’ve got neighbors who look out for each other ❤️

Now if only these goats will stop holding their babies hostage!

Tell me, what’s the best thing a neighbor has ever done for you? ⬇️

You cant even be mad, look at how well they work! That kid backed up a trailer better than 95% of adults on the road!!

Two weeks ago she wouldn’t let me touch her. I had to call in reinforcements from the neighbors because she fled from the herd, refused to cross the creek bed, bolted through barbed wire fencing.. twice, and wore out us AND the dog before she finally gave up and loaded herself back in the trailer to go home.

Today? We’re taking walks. 🤍

Not magic, just consistency, pressure and release, and showing up every single day.
This is what people don’t see when they think cattle are “just livestock.” They’re smart. They learn fast. And they respond to calm leadership.

Watching a feral cow transform and choose to trust you? That’ll humble you real quick.
If you had a feral one… would you put in the work to gentle them down, or would you sell?

Milk doesn’t just magically appear… you’ve gotta knock first. 🥛😂

That headbutt helps stimulate milk letdown so baby gets a full belly.
