We’ve updated the date for our Truck & Tractor Pull in Botetourt at The River Farm due to scheduling changes with Dragon Motorsports — and it actually sets up the perfect full day in Buchanan!

Start your day at the Botetourt County Fair, just down the road, and enjoy family activities, local ag displays, and plenty to explore. When the fair wraps up, head our way for an evening of trucks, tractors, and unbeatable mountain views at The River Farm.

It’s the best of Buchanan and Botetourt in one day — celebrating our local agriculture, our community, and the youth who will carry it forward. 🌾🚜

As the leaves settle and we look back, we’re filled with gratitude. This fall was full of laughter, learning, and traditions—and even when we faced challenges like losing our pumpkin crop, you all reminded us what community truly means. Together, we made it work, and the memories created are priceless!💛

To every family and friend group who shared their fall traditions with us (and your amazing photos📸) and every teacher who gave students the chance to learn and have fun on the farm—thank you!

It’s no secret that Jeter Farm is rich in history. We are proud of our heritage and love sharing our historic farm with our beloved community each season.

If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Annie Lee “Lock” Jeter, who is 101 years young, you know she’s not only full of farm stories but also a talented quilter — and believe it or not, she can drive a tractor too!

When you visit the farm, we hope you’ll enjoy all the fun activities we have to offer and take a moment to explore our museum area. It’s a special place to soak in the agricultural history of Roanoke and Botetourt Counties and appreciate the legacy that allows Jeter Farm to continue operating as a full-time farm today.

🌾 A Note from Your Farmers 🌾
We know many of you look forward to our pick-your-own pumpkin patch each Fall—and so do we. Sadly, this year Mother Nature had other plans. Despite our best efforts (including drone spraying!), the weeds won the battle and our pumpkin crop didn’t make it.

As full-time farmers (7 days/week), this is heartbreaking. We pour everything into this land—not just for our livelihood, but to share the joy of the farm with you and hopefully the next generation. Farming is unpredictable, humbling, and sometimes incredibly tough—but it’s also deeply rewarding when we see families laughing, kids exploring, and memories being made.

🍂 But the Fall Festival is still full of fun!

🎃 Beautiful heirloom & carving pumpkins — just $8

Admission price includes:
🚜 Wagon rides & the pumpkin train
🛝 Giant slides & even more barnyard animals

We hope you’ll see that while picking out the perfect pumpkins may look a little different this year, the heart of the festival hasn’t changed. It’s still the same joyful, hands-on, family-friendly experience—rooted in love, hard work, and a deep connection to the land.
