Prepping for pumpkins. Rye is planted in the fall as a cover crop. Sprayed and rolled down for a mulch layer all season, which helps to reduce w**d pressure.

There will be no bending over to pick up sticks 😜 8 hours of chopping… 2.5 acres/ hour. July mow goes the other way, than finished mower through harvest season to have a nice clean floor to collect nuts

While all our production trees are Chinese chestnut, it’s super cool to visit a stud of an American tree. Biggest I’ve seen in the east to date. These are considered large surviving American. Very blight infected, but grows large for decades.
