While all our production trees are Chinese chestnut, it’s super cool to visit a stud of an American tree. Biggest I’ve seen in the east to date. These are considered large surviving American. Very blight infected, but grows large for decades.

One of this year’s wildlife projects is converting 1/3 acre of turf into a native pollinator meadow with 31 different flower and grass species 🌼 A nesting hen turkey advised to procrastinate mowing the rest of the orchard for another couple of weeks 🙌
