Cold Frame Farm We’re a certified organic farm in Romeo, Michigan, growing top-quality produce and seasonal flowers. Lisa and Matt Jaroch founded Cold Frame Farm in 2012.

Lisa left a successful career as a landscape architect to pursue her dream of running an organic farm. She and Matt turned a 27-acre patch of land in Romeo, Michigan into a thriving farm, producing a wide variety of nutrient-dense produce for restaurants and members of the local community. We’re committed to regenerative farming practices that restore the landscape and foster a sustainable way of

living. But most importantly, we work to contribute to the health and happiness of our neighbors and friends. We are proud to say we use no GMOs, herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

The crew was hard at work today planting and pruning a handful of crops! ⁣

Fun fact: when pruning tomatoes, the plants will leave your hands with a brownish-yellow/green residue often referred to as “tomato tar”. This is a naturally occurring, sticky, resin-like substance that acts as a defense against pests. The same oils that produce this tar, are the same oils that give the tomato plants their iconic, fresh “tomato” smell we all know and love!

We started the week off strong with setting up irrigation in our front field. 💦 🛠️ This is a vital step we implement on the farm when it comes to watering. It is a highly efficient method that reduces water waste, and delivers the water directly where the plants need it, at their roots. It also cuts the time down on watering crops in by hand, so we can be freed up to do other equally important tasks! ⁣

Each time a new chick is introduced, we gently dip their beaks in the water one by one. This teaches them how to locate the water source and stay hydrated throughout the day!

If you or someone you know loves learning about organic farming, working with a fun group of people, and spending time in nature, you will enjoy working here! ⁣
⁣
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, works efficiently with a high attention to detail, and learns quickly & efficiently. You would be responsible for cultivation of crops including weeding and hoeing, a wide range of field work including but not limited to bed preparation, planting, pruning, and harvesting.⁣
⁣
Work for this position begins in May and runs through November. It is full time, Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm (flexibility required for weather conditions). We will work with unique schedules, although applicants available for full time work, and able to commit to the full 2026 season will be given priority. ⁣
