A week out from the processor date, and people keep asking us the same two things about the Wagyu-Beefmaster halves — so here are straight answers.

"What does it cost?" A half is $3,000, processing included — $1,000 reserves it, and the balance isn't due until pickup. That works out to roughly $14–15 per pound across every cut: ribeyes, tenderloin, roasts, and ground alike. With grocery beef at record prices right now, that's dry-aged Wagyu-cross for about what ordinary beef costs at the store — and less than what most Texas ranches charge for the same thing.

"Where would I even put it?" A half fits in a standard chest freezer — the kind that runs about $250 at any big-box store. And if 200 pounds is more than your family needs, grab another family and split one. A hundred pounds each is the easiest way to do this for the first time.

Our first Wagyu-Beefmaster set heads to the processor Monday, August 24. A few halves and wholes are still open — first come, first served.

Reserve at monteithranch.com/beef — the form takes two minutes, and we'll walk you through the rest, cut sheet included.

We've got our first set of Wagyu-Beefmaster calves headed to the processor on August 24, and there are still a few wholes and halves available.

This is the first time we've crossed Wagyu with our Beefmaster cows, and it's the best-marbled beef we've raised. Like everything we do, they were pasture-raised here in Salado and finished on locally sourced grain. Everything is processed at a USDA-inspected facility and cut to your specs — you tell us how you want it, and it comes back frozen and ready for pickup.

If you've been thinking about buying beef from us, this is a good one to get in on. Once these are spoken for, we won't have another Wagyu set until next year.

Reserve at monteithranch.com/beef — fill out the short form there and we'll get right back to you on availability and cut sheets.

And if you know somebody who's been looking to buy beef straight off a ranch, pass this along — we appreciate it.

Saturday was our 2nd Annual Youth Hunt! We partnered with Texas Parks and Wild Life and Solana Ranch. We hosted 20 kids and a good time was had by all! Sponsors include Monteith Ranch, Solana Ranch, Tex Star Plumbing, GMT Investments, and Josh and Monique Koch. We’d also like to give a shout out to our many friends who volunteered their time to guide these kids and help out with all the other activities of the day. It takes a village to pull this off, and we appreciate your support.
