It’s all about soil testing at ALBA! 🌱

Before planting, soil tests help farmers plan fertilizer needs. During the season, they help track nutrient levels and adjust as crops grow. ALBA and the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County team up to help farmers put those results to work, with ALBA interns learning alongside them.

A look back at ALBA’s On-Farm Conservation Field Day!

Cover crops, irrigation, pest management and learning how NRCS conservation programs can support farmers’ efforts.
Our Conservation Field Day brought farmers and agricultural professionals to ALBA for field demonstrations, conversations with conservation specialists, and a partner resource fair.

Thanks to RCDMC, NCAT, NRCS, and all our partners and presenters for sharing their knowledge and resources. And thanks to everyone who joined us!

Organic looks pretty good from here. 🥕🍅🍓

September is National Organic Month, a chance to highlight the variety that comes from our local fields and the farmers who grow it. From strawberries and squash to tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots, ALBA farmers grow a colorful variety of organic produce for our local communities. 💚

This Labor Day, we honor the hands behind every harvest. 🌱

Farming is a commitment that continues through every season. Weekends, holidays, and changing seasons may come and go, but caring for the land and tending to crops continues. Behind every box of fresh produce are early mornings, long days in the field, and farmers whose dedication helps feed our communities.

Today, we celebrate the people behind our food and recognize the hard work, care, and commitment that agriculture requires every day. To all those who work the land and help bring food from the field to our tables: thank you. 💚

Good food starts with the people who grow it. 🥕🌱
