Being a business owner in a smaller town comes with its pluses and minuses! I love my community and all of the support that they give me, but it also keeps me in my toes sometimes! No bad attitudes and no public bad days, but I would t have it any other way!

IM SUPPOSED TO DRINK WATER?
When designing for a large event the few days leading up are crunch time! In the floral business we work with a perishable medium so everything has to be done right before the event! My ADHD superpower of thriving under deadlines really comes in handy, but I have to remember to take care of myself and let Team Appleberry help!

So many times as a floral designer we keep getting told what’s “right” and “wrong.” What is trendy and what all the other florists who have come before us have told us is what we should be doing. IM RIGHT ON TOP OF THAT ROSE!!!
Some more farm dog fun! One of the hardest things is the fine line between the dogs running all over the place and getting in trouble or being stuck to you and stepping on all the plants or digging in the garden where they are not supposed to be! It’s hard being a farm dog!

SERENA!!!!
We love our garden roses and every June when they bloom we get so excited! This past winter we did have a few that didn’t make it sadly! People in colder climates, what are some of your tricks to getting your roses to make the winter? We cut them back, mulch the crowns, and wrap them in burlap. What are we missing?

The hardest part of flower farming is waiting. We plant the seeds, we wait to see sprouts, we plant the sprouts, we wait for them to grow, they grow and we wait for them to bloom! Definitely not a job for the impatient! What flowers are you most excited to see start blooming?
