We had a good time at the ASGBA Memorial Day Dairy Goat Show this weekend. It was a 4 ring, 2 Day show, 4 judges.
This was the 2nd show we've attended and while we didn't bring home any ribbons, I'm pleased with how my girls did.
Una, BadHabits BA Uncensored 2nd freshener, showed in all 4 rings of the 2 year old class. Ring 1 she was: 4/9, Ring 2: 5/11, Ring 3: 4/8, Ring 4: 2/7 she was commended on her width from chest to thurls and depth of body
Dark Side, Duckwater O DarkSideOfTheMoon 1st freshener, showed in all 4 rings of the yearling does class. In Ring 1 she was: 6/13, Ring 2: 9/12. On Sunday her udder wasn't as full as Saturday; in Ring 3 she was 8/10 and the judge commended her on her udder capacity and ability to produce milk. In Ring 4 she was 7/8.
On Saturday
Patty, Duckwater KOH St.Patricks Moon, showed in ring 1 and 2 of the intermediate kids class. She was 9/11 and 11/13
Flyby, Duckwater MS Moon Flyby showed in ring 1 and 2 of the senior kids class. She was 10/18 and 11/15
On Sunday
Bea, BadHabits BA Unabridged showed in ring 3 and 4 of the intermediate kids class. She was 4/8 and 3/9. The judges remarked on her overall width.
Pants, Duckwater MS Artemis II showed in ring 3 and 4 of the senior kids class. She was 7/14 and 9/13.
I tried to listen to the judges remarks in each ring as they went down the line from 1st to last on why each goat was placed over the next. My brain did not retain half of it, especially with going in back to back classes.
Tom didn't get pictures of the kids in the ring because he was holding the next kids ready but he got plenty of pictures of Una and DarkSide.
