The fair concluded Saturday with the Small Livestock Association sale. With approximately 475 lots that sold we would like to thank all the buyers that supported the sale. We’d especially like to thank Armbruster Ag Service for purchasing Emersynn’s, Family Farm and Home for purchasing Dustin’s, Tim Fritz Farm Bureau Insurance for purchasing Riley’s and Jeff and Jodi Sakon for purchasing Wyatt’s goat.

Yesterday was the Junior Livestock sale at the fair. Thank you to everyone that came out to support all of the youth. We would especially like to thank Terry Haag for buying Dustin’s steer, C**n Creek Packing for buying Emersynn’s heifer, Kendall Stoeckle for buying Riley’s heifer and Bierlein Moore of Sebewaing for buying Wyatt’s heifer. I got to auction off the lambs this year with the Grand Champion selling for $37.50 per pound.

Today was the beef breeding heifer show for the kids. Wyatt and Riley showed their feeders heifers and got some more experience in the show ring. Emersynn showed her bred heifer Ginger and Dustin showed his bred heifer Pearl, last years calf from Black Betty. Ginger gave Emersynn some attitude today, but she stayed strong and got her shown. Pearl just wasn’t in the mood to be shown today. Something spooked her between the fitting chute and the show barn and she was on edge the rest of the day. Dustin is a little sore but he’ll be ok.

Day 2 of shows at the fair. Today was the feeder cattle show. No hardware, but everyone did well and had fun.

Day 1 of shows at the 2026 Huron Community Fair is in the books and it was a good one. Dustin was the Champion Senior Showman and 4th overall. He had the Reserve Champion Heavy Weight goat. Emersynn had the Grand Champion Light Weight goat and Grand Champion Home Grown goat. Wyatt was the Reserve Beginner Showman and Riley won his weight class. Also congratulations to everyone who bought goats from us including Everly, Meredith, and Liv.

Our new brat flavors are Philly Cheese Steak, Pineapple Teriyaki, Sweet Onion Teriyaki and Sassy Honey BBQ. We also now have smoked Polish Sausage. Congratulations to our two winners. We will have our new flavors at the Port Austin Farmers Market tomorrow and our store is open 1-3 on Sunday.
