I arrived too early to see the awards but Ingrid and I will go tomorrow, Senior Day, when all of the awards will be available to see.
I was only concerned about 2 entries -- my flower arrangement in a barn and my fruit display -- and both got 1st. My Roma tomatoes turned red on Saturday finally so I had entries but only a 2nd and 3rd.

I had extra fruit because of neighbors who had apples, paw paws and large figs. I have smaller ones now.

I ALWAYS KNEW THAT I HAVE THEY BEST NEIGHBORS IN THE WORLD -- and now I have MORE!

Years ago, my best friend and neighbor, MaryAnn DeMarco, asked a neighbor at 619 McNeill if we could exchange honey for their PawPaws.

So, every year, I leave a bottle of honey at their door and take a bag of PawPaws.

Today I saw their car in the driveway so I knocked on the door. They were so wonderful to me. They gave me a big bag of PawPaws and some Celeste figs for my fair exhibit. People have started stealing my figs.

The husband is Ken (my memory not good) and they were so generous.

Over the years, they always wondered who put Koiner Farm honey at their door - they never knew it was for PawPaws!

Please thank this couple if you see them. I need 10 varieties of fruit for the Commercial Fruit Display.

I would not have enough if not for neighbors. Boyd told me to help myself to his apples and one of my neighborhood customers brought me a bag of her apples...Lynn Koiner

Now I also know that, if a bee stays on a flower too long and it gets cold at night, they cannot fly when it is cold so they wait until the morning warms up. I see this more with Bumble Bees.

THE BEES AT KOINER FARM -

Everyone has commented on the peach trees that are so loaded with peaches that the branches hang on the ground. Even a neighbor "complained" to me that his apple tree has so many apples that he does not know what to do with them (I can use them for my commercial fruit display).

My beekeeper told me that his bees are very active and they pollinated all of the apple and peach blossoms this year. Hence, all of the fruit, even my blackberry bushes (dormant now) are dense with fruit. So I now have blackberry blossom honey here.

My honey is available all the time - not just Thursdays. $15 in glass due to new beekeeper who does a great job. He is always here pulling the honey.

Ryan said that he could print copies of the Koiner Farm label for the honey but his labels are prettier.

No photos but a woman was stealing figs from my trees. I chased her up the street yelling THIEF but I lost her. I was hoping someone would pass her on the street and grab the bag for me but no one was on our streets.

Neighbors, if you see someone stealing, please chase them away or call the police. I am 81 and I work too hard for people to steal.

Letting people use my upstairs floor for the toilet, two extremely valuable boxes have disappeared. I am just getting tired of this.
