San Francisco Wine School strives to open the world of wine and other beverages to professionals and enthusiasts everywhere. We help people of all levels break into the wine industry, advance their career, or simply pursue their passions. Founded by Master Sommelier David Glancy, we're the largest wine school in the country, offering the most thoughtful approach to wine. Our venue is available for

rent and our themed private receptions, tastings, team building activities and dining experiences "edutain" all interests. Tasting kits can be delivered across the U.S. Memberships are available but not required. We're LGBTQIA+ friendly and a Snob Free Zone.

✨ Meet the SFWS Team: luliia Gawel

If you’ve ever taken a class or exam or received a shipment and wondered how everything was magically assembled for you and ready when you arrived or logged on, chances are you’ve got luliia (aka Julia) to thank!

As our Class Coordinator, Julia helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes so students and instructors are always set up for success.

🍷 Favorite wine: It’s impossible to pick just one, but my heart belongs to anything with bubbles—specifically dry styles like Brut, Extra Brut, and Brut Nature.

📍 Favorite wine region: Champagne, France. I love the history, the chalky soils, and the craftsmanship of the region.

✨ Fun fact: I'm a Board Director, Foster Mom and the Social Media Lead for an animal rescue. It's a lot of behind-the-scenes work, but it’s how I dedicate my spare time to being a voice for the voiceless. Adopt, don’t shop!

Over the last few days, our SFWS group explored incredible wineries, shared unforgettable meals, tasted amazing wines, and made so many great memories together along the way.

Days 3 & 4 in Valle de Guadalupe 🌅🍇

Our journey continued with visits to some of Valle's most exciting wineries, time with local winemakers, and unforgettable food and wine experiences.

Highlights included lunch at Vinos Emevé , a tasting with Bodegas Henri Lurton and the owners, cocktails with local winemakers, and dinner at Once Pueblos alongside three participating wineries. The group also experienced Cavas Valmar's renowned vertical tasting, toured the historic Santo Tomás museum in Ensenada, and enjoyed a spectacular seven-course dinner at Animalón.

Valle continues to completely win us over. 🍷✨

Days 1 & 2 in Valle de Guadalupe 🍷

Our SFWS crew kicked off the week with incredible wines, unforgettable meals, and warm Baja hospitality.

From a visit to Monte Xanic with winemaker Oscar Gaona to sparkling wines at Bruma Vinícola with Lulú Martinez Ojeda and dinner at Bruma Wine Garden , the trip was off to an amazing start. Guests also enjoyed lunch and a tasting with Camillo Magoni at Casa Magoni (Bodegas Magoni) and an exclusive tasting and tour at El Cielo Valle de Guadalupe with Gustavo Ortega.

And we’re just getting started. ✨

Don’t forget to apply for a Glancy Wine Education Foundation scholarship for upcoming sessions of Certified Specialist of Wine, Somm Essentials, California Wine Appellation Specialist, Blind Tasting Wine Grapes of the World, Spanish Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Essentials, and Intro to Wine Series by May 31!

Scholarships through GWEF help make wine education more accessible for students pursuing careers and certifications in the wine industry.
